I installed World Update 17, and I have CTD on the MSFS loading screen. I tried removing one of my addons, until I discovered that the culprit is Navigraph. I removed it from the Community folder, and the simulator now loads without problems. I had AIRAC version 2303 installed, because I don’t have a subscription with Navigraph.

Hi,
you can’t use outdated cycles (has nothing todo with Navigraph) because between the MSFS has updated several times between your cycle and the current one.
Its tge same when you would try to load the stock navdata with this cycle.
Has nothing todo with the Navigraph AIRAC updates, you can’t simple use outdated cycles, or at least, when they are not compatible with the current MSFS version.
Cheers
Richard
After WU17 Installation I had CTD at the end of MSFS loading screen .
Uninstalled and no more CTD. See later…
Same with me …
I have never experienced CTD before, while now they are pretty frequent …
Again, when you are using outdated navigational data, which are not compatible/build with the current/effective SDK you run into this trouble.
You should never use outdated AIRAC data, thats one of the reasons why MS doesn’t offer it, and make it automatically in the background. Nothing todo with Navigraph or any other provider. Its simple a technical issue behind.
Cheers
Richard
Hi, not sure to whom your reply is referred …
In my case, I do not use other AIRAC, other than those available in the sim.
On the bright side, with next sim, won’t be needing “Navigraph” anymore.
So why respond? The crashes are because an older AIRAC cycle is being used.
It will most certainly have it’s place in the next sim. Don’t expect the navdata in the next sim (I’m assuming NAVBLUE again) to be as good as Jeppesen nor for it to have all charts and it will be needed to update the database for some addons such as PMDG, Fenix, LNM and TDS. Additionally to update the AIRAC cycle SimBrief is using you will need a Navigraph sub.
There won’t be any need for “Simbrief” as well.
Hi Maki152,
as I said I was not sure you post was related to mine.
I am experiencing frequent CTD after installing WU XVII, and in my case the AIRAC could not be the root cause. Sorry If I did not made my mind clear
Have a nice weekend
In other words, my intention was to share with you guys that the CTD may occur even if the AIRAC was not the cause …
I had two CTD in a row, just half an hour or so …
Now I am going to uninstall the WU XVII to see what will happen
Ciao
Astro
I’m having constant CTD on msfs loading if world update XVII is installed too! I have navigraph installed outside the community folder but there are those two Navigraph folders in my community folder. I always keep my airac cycles up to date.
Just need clarification on if it’s ok to move these two folders or what to do to solve this problem.
Will navigraph still work properly if I
Move those two folders out of the community folder?
Did you get it working with world update XVII? Did you have to move any Navi graph folders? I’m afraid to mess up the functionality of navigraph
Hi,
you have any other issue on your system but it has nothing todo with Navigraph. We have no report about any existing issue with the latest version of the MSFS.
You also should NOT move any navigraph folder outside of your community folder. This will be break the package logic, is not supported and it can end in undefined results.
When it’s not a system issue somewhere (GPU driver or any other OS driver, VPN, Antivirus. …) you should empty the community first. Start the sim and look if the CTDs are gone. When yes and you are 100% sure, you can move back one package in the community folder and make your CTD-test again. You should do this till you have found the package which results in this CTD.
Very time consuming, I know but you don’t have any other option to identify, which package is the faulty one.
Navigraph itself works - we have thousands on user and also here, no real report found of any issue with us.
Cheers
Richard
