I’m having CTDs every flight now. I did a fresh install of Windows 11, and MSFS 2024. I have nothing in my community folder. Below is the error message I found.

I’m getting the same since updating to SU5. I haven’t had a CTD in almost a year, certinatly SU4 was rock solid.
Things I’ve noted
- NOTHING has been added or removed/changed or otherwise since updating to SU5
- This occurs an empty community folder as well.
- Doesn’t happen every flight. Sometimes flights of 12 hours are fine, sometimes after 1 hour I get the above CTD.
- Nothing in event viewer other than the above. No referecned faulting module.
- Happens at various poitns accross the globe - doesn’t seem to be any pattern
- Usually happens in cruise when main thread and GPU stress is low
Given the lack of hints as to where the problem may be, I’m not really sure which rabit hole to go down. Tempted to just do a full reinstall of windows and the simulator as a starting point. Just odd that it started with SU5.
Same here, together with the grammar.pggmod crash I’m mot even able to start a flight anymore

You can install and reinstall Windows all you want, but are all the core Windows sytem drivers that require updating. It’s just not install windows, install MSFS, and wha-la…. bliss. Nope. doesn’t work that way.
Hints from where? This seems to be an issue few folks are having. Whether it worked in SU4 is irrelevant. That’s history now.
Well, it takes me under an hour to go from a new SSD to a working MSFS. I do have a pretty fast internet connection but still.
- install Win11 (the latest version only needs a few small updates).
- download graphics driver
- install MSFS (the latest core is amazingly small).
I ran /sfc scannow which didn’t detect any file integrity issues…No change to any chipset or system drivers in the past few months….so not really sure what your point is.
Well, if event viewer showed a faulting DLL or module that would be a hint, but it doesnt. It just indicates (as per the OP) FlightSimulator2024.exe as the faulting module path and application.
There are associated crash reports generated and available in event viewer that I can’t really decipher. One of them is called (something similar to) AsoboCrashReport.Txt. Does anybody know if these are automatically sent to Asobo in the background at some point? Perhaps on next load?
They were sent during the beta but not sure if they are right now. Have you reached out to tech support? They are quite helpful in diagnosing CTD’s.
You’ve obviously had very different expirences with Zendesk that I have. Who are you reporting things to to get useful support?

Did you install anything from https://github.com/mbucchia ?
If yes, or if you’ve installed similar software, different versions can conflict with each other and cause CTDs.

Thanks for the reply mate but no, I tried VR a while ago and had OpenXR Toolkit install by mbucchia but thats all long gone now.
Hi guys, is there any help at this stage? Same for me after SU5 update. CTD every flight, I cannot complete a single flight. brand new windows 11 install, fresh msfs 2024 install, empty community folder, still ctd. I have spent way to much money, 9800X3d with RX9070Xt and cannot complete a single flight. Can anyone point me in a direction? tested xplane 12 and working 100% fine
Well at least im not going crazy!! been getting constant ctd, i went to the beta, got way worse, went back to standard, which helped, but then they came back, checked steam and it somehow re-enabled the beta?!
But still getting crashes back on norm now. also one time it said msfs install was corrupt and downloaded a couple of gigs, which given whole game is 7ish gig, thought was a bit extreme.
I initially thought maybe it was my undervolt, but runs prime95 fine, DCS is fine also, plus it just ctd a voltage issue would lock whole system?!
just ran a sfc /scannow and identified corrupt files so will report back
