Any one heard anything about onair about this? I saw that it said the plane wasn’t available but I hate to fly the stock plane. I love the realism in this thing.
I got in touch with onair about the mod. They asked yesterday if I could give them more information so I agve them the manual and link to this page so they could see what has changed. Today I got an email from them saying we can find it listed as DA40NGX now in onair.
Ayy, sweet. Thanks!
hi guys, one question: i cant move the throttle when i install this mod… but i have no idea why.
Edit: ok looks like in the FADEC mode it doesnt work but how can i disable FADEC?
You need and want to make the FADEC work. A common reason discovered recently is a simconnect.cfg left in your documents folder by Kinetic Assistant… Remove the simconnect.cfg to fix it. If this is your issue and you do not fix it, other modules will also be broken for you.
@MrTommymxr would you include this TBM 930 Audible Alert Fixes (Updated) to your mods? It enable minimums and 1000ft to go alert.
That’s something that has been mentioned ever since I opened the mod.
I’ve tried this. The sound files are simply not in the DA40.pck
Hey @MrTommymxr, first and foremost thank you for the work on the DA mods! Would it be possible to apply some of these changes to the DA40-TDI? I know the TDI version is locked behind the encrypted files, but the linked project below (post 428) describes a longitude modification to the layout.json file in the official longitude folder mixed with .cfg and .flt files from a CJ4 in the community folder to bypass the Asobo encrypted .cfg file. The DA40-NG and TDI should hopefully mirror each other even more closely…
The changes needed are above me, but the TDI is so sad now compared to your mods and the TDI really has so much to offer with the cool steam gauges and GNS430. It would be a nice addtion if feasible, so I figured I must ask even if the answer is a resounding no ![]()
If I would mod a premium aircraft, it would be the DV20. I would turn it into a DA-20 80, with an 80HP Rotax and a very basic gps. Just like the one I flew in flight training. 300fpm in summer 85 knot cruise.
But if I do figure out how to mod the TDI, I would simply port everything over and change the differences. Its basically the same airframe with weaker engine, less fuel and weight etc. Flightmodel would pretty much be identical
Would be much appreciated.
Our DA/DV-100s are pretty similar to the 80 as they’re old enough.
One of them just had engine replacement, I felt myself in a jet compared to the old engine performance.
Hey DV20 upgrade or TDI upgrade or both, I’m honestly just happy that you’d consider any of it
Does the DA-20 80 have a basic autopilot like the kap 140? I know the TDI and DV20 are both VFR only, but a simple autopilot makes it easier to soak up views and relax on longer flights. I didn’t like Asobo’s choice here, especially for the TDI since most I find online have some form of AP.
Yes. It’s called trim.
Haha that’s fair enough! I’ll just have to trust that the winds and pressure won’t change drastically, we all know that doesn’t happen
, when I have to leave my cockpit for a moment. Anything to not put the aircraft in the hands of Loopy Larry (ai control)
IRL I rarely leave DA/DV20 cockpit during the flight. In game I can use the ESC to pause if needed.
Still I prefer IRL mode. Much less disturbing factors are around during the flight and also the FPS is much better.
Not sure where to report bugs, but there is an issue with the “Fuel Calc” data when you add fuel via the fuel toolbar. While the capacities on the main engine page are correctly updated, the “Gal Rem” is not updated, and thus the “Endur” and “Range NM” calculations are incorrect.
At the moment you need to turn the plane off to reset the Fuel Totaliser. Next update you can do it by activating the ELT. Not G1000 softkeys sadly
Hye, any one also experience the plane being pushed up in autopilot. I set it at 4500 feet for example. i experience updraft maybe, so it gets pushed up. But the autopilot does not bring it back to 4500 feet. And it gets pushed up to even beyond 5000 feet in my example.
Hello @Speler355663478 , in this thread 25 days ago :
Looks like Asobo haven’t included a fix in the latest update for the problems to the DA40 visual model that they introduced in the previous update. Specifically the black rectangles appearing and disappering as you zoom in and out and the missing PFD surround. I did report them all the the Zensesk. So we will still need the old visual model included with the DA40 NGX.
Hmm… new world update changed name from DA40 NG (default) to DA40NGX?? Odd. Some naming code must have been changed backend… aircraft.cfg code should make the name say DA40 NG but it says DA40NGX instead
