DA40-NGX Improvement Mod (v0.13, 05 JAN 25, FS24 compatible)

Ok folks, take it easy.

default flightmodels ignore winds below 25knots

yeah id recommend keeping the controllable nose wheel

visual extras like wing flex are cool but not necessary

WOW!!! It would be great!
I will start my real flights next week and first will be DV20, so would love to have it in SIM as real as can be :)))

Great thanks !!

That would be awesome. I did my PPL in a DV-20

Well, the actual one is not ā€œthatā€ bad already so you can familiarize yourself with it, especially if you’ll fly the same version or similar engine one but the drag and pitch effect on the flaps is a lot more IRL - and that can make your sim flights more difficult when arriving to a short field. The ones (old DV20 and DA20s) I fly can keep 70kias with around -15 -20degrees pitch with over -1000fpm descent rate and they lose their speed a lot quicker during flare than the sim one. Other than that the basic handling is similar already so you can practice the basic procedures (setting prop, MP, carb heat, etc). I cannot judge the performance of the sim model as I fly 80HP versions which are naturally a lot weaker and have better mileage and yes the sim version climbs a lot better, cruises a lot faster and seems to consume fuel a bit quicker so cannot be to far from RL.

Much appreciated!

My last flight in the da20-80 was when i passed my checkride over 3 years ago. i don’t have any recordings and i dont remember the power settings for approach and landing.

@Szepy2235 @PiperDriver0624 if you guy have any numbers

I’ve not planned any guaranteed flights for this month yet but most possibly I’ll take one on 23rd October and it’s not impossible that I’ll fly once earlier too but I’m now concentrating on learning C172.
If you give me a list what numbers to check (other than the approach parameters, like different KIAS with Pitch degree/MP/RPM/fpm and different flaps positions), I’ll note them down.

Sorry mine was also my checkride and now I don’t have access to the plane anymore. I can give you the numbers for a DR400-180 though if you fancy doing that mod

sorry, already turned the dr400 into a quadcopter…

I’m having a problem installing the DA40NGX and need some trouble shooting advice.

The airplane shows installed in my content manager as version 0.10.0 along with a generic MSFS thumbnail image. But it does not appear in my profile hanger.

How do get it to show in my hanger so I can actually fly it?

Background:
The first time I launched flight simulator after unzipping it into my community folder the game crashed.

Started the game back up in safe mode with no problem.

Shut the game down and removed all modes except for the DA40NGX. Restarted the game and the problem stated above appeared. It’s in the content manager but not in my hanger.

Deleted the DA40NGX from the community folder, re-booted the computer, re-downloaded the file and unzipped it into the empty community folder. Rebooted again, started the game and still have the same problem described above.

Removed it from the community folder and restored my mod files. The game runs as usual with planes and mods working as intended.

I’m stumped. Any ideas or suggestions to get it flying would be greatly appreciated.

It replaces the existing plane, it does not add a second plane. Are you saying there are zero DA40’s in the list of planes, or only one? If there’s one, then you found it

Of course! It’s a mod to the existing airplane. Thank you for pointing this out. Knew it had to be something really simple I was missing.

Same here, don’t know if I’m crazy but I remember it showed as NGX apart to the default NG

Anyone else suddenly have an issue with PFD screens going black? Not sure if it’s an issue with this mod or the NXi, but this is a new issue. It only seems to occur when flying at night in the sim.
