Have you tried to turn a reduction gear driven diesel engine ?
Turn off the fuel flow or cap the air for the combustion and it stops rather quickly.
It is not like a worn out radial that may ticker on for a few revolutions until all combustible material is used up.
Or was this the gasoline version of the airplane?? But even then, the IO540-K5 in our Saratoga maybe turned through maybe 9 or 12 blades when the mixture was cut.

Because FS24 da40 is so trash, ill work on an update for the 40 and make it work in fs24 this week

That is very much appreciated, since you’re probably the only hope of the DA40 ever being not-garbage in FS24. Too bad your fixes won’t carry into career mode.

I could be wrong, but my understanding is that career mode only allows the use of “officially approved” flight models, so it’ll simply ignore any 3rd flight model modifications.

It ignores all mods entirely, even toolbar mods. Very annoying.

Dear MrTommy,

First of all thanks a lot for your mod! Lot of people using it and enjoy.
One question - at current MSFS 2020 version rudder is not effective enough as IRL, does it have to be updated in mod or it’s problem of base system?
When I’m saying “not effective enough” I mean that IRL I never use full rudder while in MSFS (especially dureng landing) I often need full rudder and as well often it’s not enough

What do you mean? I find it’s way too strong in FS.
Im removing half of it’s effectiveness this update.

Comparing to real DA40 I’m flying in FS I feel rudder effect is not sufficient when landing with crosswind with “crab technique” - at least with default pedals configuration
 Can it have other roots you think?

It’s more about having lot more realistic wind effects in MSFS2024 than being inefficient. The relative small maximum crosswind component of these small planes are not without reason IRL.

Agree, but IRL 10k crosswind gust is not something terrible while in FS it takes me out of runway with full rudder applied I’m not able to compense direction. But OK, will compare soon when will install 2024 (waiting for drivers to be released for example for RealSim and some else)

I loaded the mod and I have a slight issue. With the power at 75%, the rpm is in the red. They don’t seem to be coordinated. Is this a Fadec issue?
Also the brakes are very weak and the parking brake doesn’t hold in an engine runup. Not sure if that’s related to the mod
