DA40-NGX Project (v0.5.9, Oct 20)

Greets,
If you are not aware. We have an Improved DA40NG similar to the G36 Fixes and Improvements thread

Key Features.

  1. Engine control
  • Full FADEC: Use the F2-F3 keys to set the Power and the FADEC will keep the desired power throughout the climb and descent without you needing to compensate for altitude.
  • Prop-Control FADEC version also available where your throttle works and RPM is set by the ECU. However you have to monitor power during climb and decent
  1. Engine changes
  • Proper fuel flows
  • Changed Oil/Coolant temp and pressure behaviour
  • Increased thrust scalar
  1. Compatibility with the G1000v2 mod
  • Added Engine, Systems and Fuel page
  • Added fuel/Gearbox temperature indications
  • CAS messages added

Link:

  1. Flightmodel
  • Correct cruise speeds
  • Increased Fuel capacity to 19.5 gal per side
  • Reduced elevator and rudder sensitivity
  • Improved Cl table and stall characteristics
  • Improved inflight handling characteristics all around
  • Decreased ground friction
  • Added nose wheel steering
  • Increased flap lift and drag
  1. Systems
  • Improved outside lighting
  • Improved autopilot PIDs and limitations
  • Engine Indications Connected to Engine Master switches

Todo:

  • Flightmodel: Correct performance and feel all around
  • Systems: Redo everything, Full G1000- FADEC integration
  • Alot more

I still get the flashing 2300 RPM all the time in the non Fadec version. Is this a known issue? Otherwise it feels pretty good… although I would say being able to hold the same rate of climb up to 11000 feet I am not sure is super realistic. Cheers.

Thats how it’s supposed to be.
The FADEC controls the RPM. if you are not using it they you have to control the RPM yourself. The RPMs are in the readme.
Shift F2-F3 I think.

On a normal day the AE300 can make full power up to around 12-13K.

maybe im dumb i cant download the googledrive file

works by me

Thank you, finding myself spending MANY hours in the DA-40. :slightly_smiling_face:

So happy someone is giving this plane the treatment it deserves. Can’t wait until the FADEC is good to go with throttle quadrants. Keep up the awesome work!

We might be able to steal some code from the A320. There is some logic inbetween the thrust levers and engines.

Please fix it so I and many more can enjoy what you and the others have given us! The plane is a joy to fly. The more realistic touches it has, the better.
I’m really fond of the modified flightmodel as well, so shoutout to Philipe and Alexis for this!

Added the high-altitude idle power correction combustion extinction thingy

Possible to put on google drive or whatever? Hate nexusmods because registration and slow download links

Thanks! Now works! =)

Hi, great work! On non-FADEC, I’m getting a really low engine load (39%) with my RPMs in the yellow. I also get the Vacuum low master caution. How do I fix please?

Also Engine, System and Fuel pages don’t appear (I have the latest WT mod)
