What is “tail incidence”? When I was flying yesterday, I wondered whether it’s possible to define a few degrees of nose-up trim as the default setting. Overall, after the ground-effect change the DA62X seemed to need a ton of nose-up trim, both at takeoff and landing.
Angle of incidence is the angle is the angle of the wing relative to the airframe

The tail incidence is in the opposite direction (down)
here a screenshot from the DA40 maintenance manual
Its pretty much the trim of the whole tail. Thats actually how airliners trim.
The in sim throttles are responding to my inputs, the power isn’t, the power remains at 50% regardless of throttle position. Have I missed something?
And Happy New Year in advance!
hey ho…
has anyone tried to takeoff witht the plane from Jackson Hole? ^^ I almost can’t accelerate and don’t get it off the ground
close to MTOW, yes, and I’m not up to date with the performance charts, but should actually be no real prolem, should it?
Edit: No problems in “clear sky” preset weather, but impossible in current real weather freezing conditions… could be explainable with the sims icing “simulation”
The new throttle controlled FADEC works great.
hm, did reloading fix it?
Gave it a go and what awful weather, iced up straight away. One thing that may be an issue here is that I tried this a couple of times and every time MSFS put me on the runway with a tailwind. So with icing conditions, high altitude, MTOW and tail wind, there was no chance this was ever going to end well. Had to manually select the runway to get the nose into the wind. After that used about half the runway, but rotation was sluggish and climb was a bit compromised. And don’t forget the DA62 is not approved for flight into known icing conditions. The deicing is just there to allow you time to get out of icing conditons.
also static thrust is still broken
The DA62 can be flown in known icing conditions if you have purchased the de icing mod/OAM. See the AFM supplement S03.
But there are a lot of warnings a legal CYA stuff.
thanks for trying =) I ended up doing the takeoff in basically clear weather and changed back to real in the air. I simply couldn’t get beyond 90ish knots
pls upvote thanks ![]()
Tommy, for all the effort you take you should at least install a buy-me-a-coffee link…
Would it affect the Baron too?
Voted
Thx for your time
i just thought about that while bushing my teeth.
i can test tomorrow. i can still get the power and thrust values through SimConnect
the whole situation changes when you start throwing money into the equation.
id like to keep it the way it is
probably true… anyway, a big thank you for your work!!
Good question. Asobo’s Baron is incredibly powerful. I have no trouble believing it has double the power of the Bonanza. In fact, multiple real-world Baron pilots have said in the forums that it is overpowered compared to real-world performance.
I wonder if Asobo added extra horsepower to the Baron to counteract the efficiency problem @MrTommymxr pointed out above.
i mean, the vl3 has a 100hp engine that produces 119 hp at sea level in the game
99.9% dont know and probably dont really care.
as long as it gets the job done and the result is correct.
The PFD and MFD always default to 0% brightness every time I load a flight. Then I have to crank it up to 100% to see the displays, since I usually fly in the day. I’m sure in the past it used to remember the last used setting. Anyone know how to change this to either remember the last used setting or default to 100%?
i spawned in at night and they were at 100%
its weird
