Here you go. Sorry for the inconvenience
But the good news is that the autopilot on the MSFS standard DA62 is much better. Very stable in a 96kt FLC climb and a totally smooth transition from FLC climb to level off at 12000ft. Smooth in alt hold and then again a very smooth transition to FLC descent. It couldnāt manage any of this last time I tested the standard variant.
Asobo fixing bugs was always going to be a problem where developers engineered the bugs out. Just swings and roundabouts.
They also appear to have played with the throttles (or power % display) on the DA62, as you now need to reduce throttle to under 56% before the yellow 100% is replaced by the green 90%. Looking at fuel flow and airspeed the increments between 100% and 56% still impact the aircraft performance but are just not reported on the aircraft power meter.
lol.
i will take a look at the default 62
I donāt know if itās just me, but Iām using vertical speed mode quite a bit and it seems to be always 200fpm too far in the direction of ascent - so if I tell the plane to ascend at 600fpm it does +800fpm, and if I tell it to descend at 600fpm it does -400fpm.
Crazy good work by the way in getting the auto-pilot nuttiness fixed, still finding your DA62 my favourite plane in game at the moment.
Lol, same thing ⦠I started working on AP lately ⦠Had found some pretty good settings (isnāt troubleshooting PIDs fun ? Well no it isnāt) for some planes and BANG now the elevator settings are shot.
That would be awesome. Bummer that the sound files just arenāt there. I noticed the code is there, so was wondering why no sound.
Iām sure you have your hands full with the new patch as it is, anyways.
Changes:
- Autopilot fixed for 1.10.7.0 (ish)
- Reduced Trim effectiveness for the update, from 9° to 5°
The new autopilot implementation is weird. The changes are not perfect but they get the job done.
So which version of the FADEC is most realistic? The full FADEC or the prop-control FADEC?
Full FADEC, but you wont be able to use your joystick throttle axis
Which one should I use? I canāt manipulate the throttle stick due to full FADEC!
propControl.
I forgot to distinguish the versions in the read me
ok I will try it , do you have discord ?
I thought about making one, but id like all the discussion to stay on one platform
Update for the future
To avoid confusion and to make everything simpler, Iām gonna fix the quirks of āPropControlā version and that will be the only version
I will include a PDF on how to convert it to āFull FADECā or āNONFADECā. Everything will be prepared so that you only need to delete 2 lines from the engines.cfg and rename/delete the ECU file.
Its a struggle to upload 3 versions, with only very tiny differences. I always seem to mess up some tiny thing and or forget that some people are downloading this for the first time, and havenāt read the 400+ total posts on the DA62 and DA40 thread.
Also the new autopilot changes are a real slap in the face and I will be taking a break for a week or so.
The more I look at it, the more confused I am. I suggest that you only upload the version that is closest to the real one, because I know that most of the 62 have implemented fedac functions. Thank you for your contribution.
Yeah the problem is the current state of SimConnect. If it were possible to have the Full FADEC running with the throttle axis, then that would be the only version.
The Prop control is a good middle ground between using your throttle Axis and not needing to adjust the Prop manually.
The prop version in my opinion is the user friendly version if I remember correctly, I highly recommend you upload this version for the majority of simmers.
Just tried after getting over the ctd on loading bug related to peripherals.
Could not turn on the engine masters to try and start the engine. Could not get the throttle to change. Verified I had the prop control version loaded. Tried to get the auto checklist complete to start the engines and it also could not start it.
Dunno if Iām still having issues with the peripherals bug or not. Had to go to work. Just thought Iād see if others had similar issues.
Having the same issue. Even starting in air has the engines inop. DA40NGX works fine though.
