MAX doesn’t do a thing, I would prefer any other way to ease the icing effect if possible.
i can buff it to 95% from 90% duty cycle.
100% is too strong
this is how the modes are emulated btw
Please do so, and I’ll test it here in the Nordic icing conditions.

I’m late to the party trying the latest version of the DA62X with the mixture FADEC. I love this! For my first flight, I used the throttle axis to set takeoff power and then switched over to the FADEC once I was established in the climb. It was seamless.
Is it necessary to switch back to the propcontrol in order to bring the power back to idle? As I was on final approach, I wondered whether pulling the mixture back to zero would cause the engine to quit. I tried to keep the lever just above zero as I touched down. Is there any problem with pulling the mixture lever to zero when in FADEC mode? If so, when is the best time to switch back to propcontrol before landing? Any recommendations?
it shouldn’t quit. you’re safe
- Improved cockpit lighting (again)
- improved airframe anti ice effectiveness
- Windshield defrost: left engine must be warm and levers must be set.
In heavy icing you might still need to use fluid, but it will at least slow down the accumulation. (I need to test)
Also the lever is reversed, full forward should be 100% (hot)
OOPS
Turns out i broke airframe anti ice
was using it for debugging and forgot to take it out
Again can someone explain what you people mean when you swich it into ‘fadec mode’?
As in reality the aircraft has a form of fadec which obviously controls the engine and prop rpm. In reality in the before take off checks you change the ecu switches from auto selecting each one before pressing the ecu test buttons. So I really don’t understand why you guys are messing around with mixture.
Also regarding the Icing. The Da62 has an anti icing system, which means that it can’t really get rid of an ice build up once in it however prior to entering icing if turned on it will keep the wing clearer for longer. Sometimes in icing conditions if turned on it can have some effect on it. However I can say for certain it never looks like the effect in the sim!
Read the included documentation, please
The ‘smearygrain’ livery set for the DA62X has the instruction:
" Although this is a simple unzip and drag/drop, please remove the style folders from the main ‘Diamond DA62’ folder before dragging them into your community folder."
What & where are the Style folders?
Thank you
TG
No idea. i have no control of what other liveries do and want you to do
Adding new textures to this sim seems to be an entirely different ball game to the old FS9/FSX days.
I downloaded the 9-skin pack from Flightsim.to for the DA62 and then simply dropped one of them into the community folder. It did show up in the sim and it was possible to load the aircraft at the ramp/gate. But as soon as the battery was turned on the sim locked up.
These skins probably are designed for the default DA62 and because of the layout.json file that directs the sim where to locate files it causes a problem.
In the old days that was a simple thing…but I think this will need a bit more tweaking to make it work
But these texture issues have nothing to do with the MOD for the DA62.
One of the reasons I asked the question was that the 9 pack showed up for the DA62X, but in flight I was getting screen freezes that lasted up to 30 seconds. Not something I was getting on the stock DA62. But I suspect it was from the new skin, not the DA62X.

I use skins from the super livery pack since the beginning, I have had no issues so far neither with the vanilla D62 nor with the D62x mod. Not even when skins were loaded after the D62x mod.
I think since this thread is for the actual aircraft and not repaints this topic should problably be discussed elsewhere.
The super livery pack is yet another package I believe. So it may behave entirely differently.
True, I just added that according to my experience these liveries had nothing to do with stability in FS, not even with this mod.
So if anyone has issuses with others try these too, they seem to fit with this mod.
i tried using a livery and it broke the plane and g1000.
it had its own panel.xml and panel.cfg
i don’t bother with liveries anyway.
also. if you guys haven’t heard. the WT guys got a FADEC on the CJ4.
for fun i just dropped that code in the DA62 and i can tell it’s doing stuff.
Christmas “vacation” is soon and hopefully i can adapt the code to the da62/40. need to see.
No guarantees.
I have tried three different livery packs now. Just because things that don’t work fascinate me almost as much as those that do
One pack contains a gold and silver livery. The gold works 100% without any negative effect on the DA62. The silver one for some reason is missing glass and reflection textures when displayed in the sim but all files are present.
The 9-livery pack crashes the DA62 when simply dropped into the community folder. And if I add the texture folder etc manually the aircraft shows in the sim but none of the textures load
I guess this new folder structure with many crossreferences and path statements is just too much for this oldtimer to figure out. Especially since every new attempt requires a restart.
But I wonder if some of the performance and CTD issues people have are not related to this very strange file structure.
And with that I am leaving this livery business alone for now.
