Dayton, Ohio and Its Sim Pilots Thanks You Asobo

A huge shout out and applause to Asobo for making our Dayton, Ohio countryside free of spikes, water-filled plateaus, and generally terrible artifacts. I don’t know which update did it but this evening I took the Bonanza out for a fly-by of our rural areas and was very pleased to see our country-side looking just like…well, the countryside that we know. What an improvement. So happy. I know that Dayton is the home of the Wright Bros., but I’m still surprised that you managed to get the earth movers and engineers out here to clean things up. How did you ever find us?! Thanks again. Oh, by the way I can tell that Bing maps is about 4 yrs. out of date because the National Museum of the United States Air Force only has 3 huge buildings. Our 4th one containing all the U.S. Presidents’ planes, X-planes, space exploration, and air mobility is “under construction” in the sim. This baby was completed about 4 years ago! Can’t wait to see our new facility standing tall. Hurry up or we will have our 5th building up while you are still building the 4th one. Thanks again. PS- The Turbo Bonanza flew better than ever.

The 1.12.13.0 update got rid of the spikes in Columbus, so I’m going to guess that it’s the same one that got rid of them in Dayton. I didn’t notice the ones there, but I also haven’t flown much in that area. Nice to see another Ohio simmer in here

Another Ohio simmer here! I fly from KSGH, down around Cinci and up to KOSU a lot to practice in the M20R with navigating, ILS and approaches.

I am not a real pilot nor have I ever flown in a small GA aircraft, but I sure love flying in this sim! Being able to identify roads and rivers I know from daily life is great.

Hey Ohio simmer. Fly around Put-In-Bay? Our family has been there on many long weekend jaunts. There is a mod out there that puts Perry’s monument back as the focal point of the island. Quite stately as you take off to the east from a very nice little local airport, Put-In-Bay. The same sim author added a very realistic and detailed Cedar Point Park and also pleasure boat scenery on the west side of the peninsula. These mods won’t mean ■■■■ to almost all flyers except those that have fond memories of those places on sunny summer days. Happy flying.
