Has anyone noticed how the heat haze effect has been dramatically reduced over the years on this aircraft along with a very flat-looking 2D line coming out of the engine nozzles when you power back from full throttle/AB to lower RPMs?
Has all this been done on purpose? I noticed the same on the F-16 and this applies to both 2020 and 2024. In fact, if you look at this video:
You’ll find towards the start of the video how absolutely beautiful and true-to-life the engine heat haze effect looked at one point in MSFS 2020. This has been toned down it seems. Was this deliberate? I really miss this old heat haze effect. Deimos and IFE have retained the old heat haze effect in both 2020 and 2024, but it seems DC/SC have changed or updated the heat haze effects on their aircraft to a more subtle effect, which instead of looking like thick heat haze shooting out of an aircraft, looks more like a mirage effect you see against a really hot backdrop or the dessert, where you just see things shifting around in a haze due to excessive heat.
Any insight? I really miss the old/original heat haze effect from the engine nozzles. Looks way more convincing and actually blurred the surroundings around it and partially obstructed your view if you pointed the chase cam just right at the aircraft.
Developer support is not allowed here on these forums, and is only available from our Discord channel. Anything written about such things on these forums from anyone other than DC Designs is likely to be inaccurate, which is why we’re not engaging here any more other than to direct folks to our proper support channels.
Hello? Is no one else reporting missing external lights on the Tomcats? These conversions are poor quality. Even the Falcons had the same issues with external lights and still not fixed properly.
I scanned several posts above - there’s nothing from the devs.
Sure, the developers aren’t allowed to provide support but they can at least communicate here and acknowledge issues or let us know what the resolution status is/how they are planning to fix said issue.
Not everyone uses Discord and it’s a terrible feedback channel, at least for this specific developer as they outright ban people from their server if the feedback is critical or if you ask questions about fixes.
@DanRoman56 Borderline terrible, I honestly don’t like it and don’t have the time for it. All the other devs are here and the best ones do communicate with their audience. Just a little acknowledgement from time to time would be nice along the lines of “we have identified or are aware of the issue and will be rolling out fixes…”
We do - we have Facebook and YouTube channels as well;
Several of the folks complaining and repeat-posting “bugs” on these forums have been banned from all of our channels for violating basic rules, hence their presence and repeat posts here.
