Hum… It’s more than a decent aircraft. It’s been superb for months now. The devs are working hard on it and they also provide direct answers and tutorials.
There is still a little bit of work with the systems (I wish I could enter a flight plan from the plane computer one day), but it’s flying great, it’s powerfull, has gorgeous sounds and visuals, and it will crash you in the ground if you’re not being careful!
So, just like the F-14, we are far from “average aircrafts”. They have a real unique personality. (Sadly, unlike the all new F/A-18 I’ve quickly tested )
Although, since yesterday’s SU7, the screens (on both F-15 and F-14) won’t turn on (thanks again Asobo!). So maybe you should wait for DC Designs to fix this before buying it and cursing me
(I’m not working for DC Designs, nor being paid to say that. It’s only my own genuine opinion, but this F-15 is one of my favorite planes for quite a while now!)
@CodenameJack447 and I are getting there slowly folks, still a ways to go but at least some displays are usable now. Might have something properly ready for updates after the weekend, but as Marketplace team / Just Flight will all be out of office it’ll be next week before they can be uploaded. Will keep you all updated
Glad to see the glass screens will be working again soon! I do hope you guys figure out what kind of alchemy Asobo is doing for the F/A-18 HUD. It’s SO much brighter than pretty much any other aircraft in the sim. If they’re using undocumented APIs in the SDK, that’s pretty unfair.
Just a quick note - Noted the comment on the f18 and was thought it was just me too or if I should give it some more time to grow on me
The f15 and f14 have somewhat spoiled me. Took the f18 for a few tests and wondering what others thought compared to the dc products I know this is not the forum. Just wondered if dc would do their own f18 in the developer style of the f15 and f14 (or if it doesn’t work that way). Anyway, back to the f15 lol
They’re all good in their own way, perhaps if the flight modelling/physics of all were somewhat closer together, it’d be really good. There’s a sweet spot there I can see would be perfect and just add more consistency. A similar yet different feel approach somehow. I haven’t flown the 15’s in awhile, I guess there’s still no fix for the throttle issues for Xbox?
The throttle issue on the Xbox is a complete and utter mystery, but as soon as we find out what causes it, we’ll fix it. It seems to be controller-related, rather than anything else. Console users who buy stick and throttle set-ups say the bug goes away.
I quite like the F18. It’s very, very twitchy but I obviously don’t know if that’s a characteristic of the real Hornet or not. But I’m enjoying flying it.
Love both your aircraft but starting to wish I hadn’t got them from the marketplace. Delay with the updates is a pain and visible weaponry would have been a nice to have.
Funny thing is I only held off until the marketplace release of the Tomcat so I could use them both on xbox too, but I’ve hardly touched that version since the first week. Perhaps if there’s a nice sale on at some point I might have to double dip.
Appreciate your hard work and looking forward to the droop snoot and Black Widow next year
Done, F-15C, D, E and I cockpits now working again, will be sent to Microsoft team on Monday as well as Just Flight, I’m just tweaking some details but we’re back in business now. F-14s also sorted
They’re already fixed and being sent to the marketplace - the bugs were caused by Sim Update 7, not the fault of developers. Look up this thread for more details
What kind of updates are we to expect from your planes next year? Hopefully we’ll see the same Afterburner effects the Hornet has and also hoping vapor and other atmospheric effects are still on the cards.
Thanks for the quick turnaround, Dean. I just downloaded the Just Flight update to v1.0.7.
I’m also interested in what you have on the development list for the F-15 and your anticipated timing.
Keep up the good work. What a terrific aircraft!
