-
Resolution of texture maps increased
-
UV maps re-done to support higher resolution without performance degradation.
MODELING UPGRADE PHASE 1
-
Cockpit modeling enhanced, extra detail added to cockpit walls, canopy frame and canopy handle areas
-
Polygon and Ngon shadowing issues fixed
-
Rudder pedals re-modeled and textured
KNOWN ISSUES
-
TAA mode still tears all and any projected-gauge displays. This is a current limitation within MSFS, and at this time Asobo have not issued a fix.
-
MFD Displays limited to what MSFS can reasonably reproduce, no FLIR or RADAR yet that were featured in Prepar3D versions, but working on replacements.
-
NAV functions coded correctly but sometimes failing to respond to VOR / ILS frequencies. Investigating to fix for next update.
-
F-15E and I still suffering from some FPS loss due to many glass screen displays, caused by MSFS incompatibility with XML coding. Investigating further
how to improve performance, with a view to ultimately re-coding displays in HTML for ideal compatibility
CJ447: "I want to mention PridedThread577, jdieguel54, SilentG37 and SeverusAviations for their Several contributions and also everybody whose with friendly and contructing feedback have helped to achieve the first available update.
I see this at the beggining of a living project. Therefore, from now on my mods will not be labeled as CJ447, but rather as community_live_revision_x.x"

CPU related for sure!
9900k 5ghz, gtx3080, 32gb ddr 4266mhz, and 4k resolution.
30fps in cockpit, 60fps outside.
I run almost everything on ultra on a I9 9900KF with 64GB memory. windows and sim on a fast M2 SSD and 2080 super OC videocard on 1080p resolution.
The problem is purely caused by the BMP files as i tried converting them all to png and edit the filenames in the xml files (it doesnāt show up right in the sim like you said but the FPS problem was gone.)
Also had the same problem with another plane that still uses bmp files in the gauges.

How are the cockpit textures looking after the new update? Sound is better?
Iām not at home right now
Thank you
Thanks for this information, itās immensely helpful. If I can find a way to project imagery onto a PNG file then this might be a winner. I had noticed the FPS difference when using PNG files, but lost the background images. I will experiment further with this, thanks again

Textures are updated, sound is for a later update ( custom set from Sim Accoustics ).

Anyway, @MikeFear303 probably is right. png may offer more performance.

Thanks, yeah, thatās about what I get. The F-15E is now faster, but still lagging behind the C/D models which have less glass. Time to figure out those PNGs then, Iāve already asked Asobo about them so hoping theyāll put me on the right track soon

the analisys was with cockpit setting high BTW!!!
A question for everybody: outside the F-15E, itās 60fps. Inside the cockpit, itās 35fps. Thing is, without the FPS counter switched on, who can actually tell the difference? Honest question, because I canāt - the human eye can only see up to about 24 FPS.
its easy to see smoothness in motion when higher fps , sure your eyes perceive 30 fps or so , but its doent change the smoothness
well, thatās the million-dollar debate, I use a 120hz monitor and I notice the difference, but it is true that at high altitude, where you see everything moving slowly, 30fps does not matter than 60, 90 or 120. But in fps games in which you continually need to turn the camera you need them.
Also, i prefer 30 fps smooth than 60fps sttutering
UFO Test: Multiple Framerates (testufo.com)
While I think that using better performing gauges is very important, Iām sensing here that much of the problem might be in set-ups as much as the aircraft themselves. If my lowly GTX-1080 can run the F-15C at 50FPS inside the cockpit, then everybody with more powerful computers should see the same or better, and anything above 40FPS should be more than respectable as I had my sim locked at 30FPS and itās been super-smooth even in the E model, in VR.
For me itās pretty noticable when using TrackIR when i fly lower and it goes below +/- 28FPS it becomes a nauseating experience pretty quickly. I fly a lot of different planes in the sim stock and 3rd party and it never happens with those as the framerate is mostly 35 to 70 FPS (depending on the plane and scenery/airport)

Anyway, msfs2020 engine is seems to be CPU based and not using all the cores, so a gtx1080 should be more than enough to move this game 120fps at fullHD
I play resident evil 3 at 180fps 4k with rtx3080 while with my old 1080ti i can perform it at 90fps.
Also i remember when i bought FH3 and was impossible to play until 6 months later they improve the CPU threads performance

Fair enough, Iāll definitely be converting the gauges either way, itās just so strange that about half of users see no difference and the other half do. I was belting along at Mach1.2 at 500ft and it was as smooth as silk no matter where I looked etc, and that was in VR.
Hopefully altering the gauges to PNG will clear it up anyway.

I am. True fact, 24-25 fps. Cinema runs at about 26 so it looks smooth. Folkās frame rates might be stuttering though so that would be more visible as frame rates come down.
Good grief. You couldnāt be more wrong with any of that.
