Thanks a million
New observations:
V2 + 1.8 autopilot (F15D)
- When starting flight from runway AP, Alt Hold, VS hold, NAV all work perfectly! VS will climb to designated altitude and no more abrupt stopping. Plane follows flight path perfectly.
- When starting from parking and having to manually start up plane AP, Alt Hold, and VS hold all work perfectly EXCEPT NAV. Plane WILL NOT follow flight path.
V2 + 1.7 autopilot (F15D)
- When starting from runway everything works ok for the most part but VS hold will keep climbing and wonāt stop at designated alt. NAV also doesnāt follow flight path as good as 1.8
- When starting from parking and having to manually start up plane everything seems to work as normal, however NAV has a mind of its own and will fly wherever it wants to go.
Hi there @joneffingvo , I was reviewing the files and possibly have a fix for why the plane wont fallow nav. I do not know if this works, but I would like to see if you can try it out to verify it solves your problem for what you outlined in 1.8 #2.
go into jacks mod whichever newest version you have. open up the APRON.FLT file for any of the planes.
approximately line 142 GPSdrivesNAV1=False change that line to =True, save and retest.
Again, unsure if that corrects your issue as I havenāt used the AP yet on this thing, but are reviewing the code that seems to be the best option to try.
Best of luck.
My man you are a genius! That did it! NAV follows flight path to a T when starting from a parking spot and manually starting up.
Thanks for testing and verifying, Iāll let @CodenameJack447 know so it will be fixed for everyone on the next mod update.
Thanks again for testing that out.
I was extremely unimpressed with the initial release. 0.2.0 came out so quickly, and fixed so many problems, that any regret I had evaporated immediately. Keep it up mate!
First of three updates, other two coming out in February, still some way to go to bring the Eagles fully up to MSFS standard but itās all coming together nicely.
Text can be changed in colour via the Panes>HUD> any .xml file, where you can pick a colour. Static images, like the velocity vector, would need the lime-green shape re-coloured by hand to alter them.
I found out, that beginning cold and dark one engine is already running.
It is not possible to start the other engine manually, only the shortcut is working.
The throttle beginns to work (rpm increaseing) at 40% of the throttle-way.
The camera-views are mixedup.
Sound and flight model are much better.
Thanks so far, great job.
Just picked up the DC Designs F-15.
I held off due to FPS concerns, but having heard that the C and D variant have been predominantly fixed I went for it(plus itās good to see active development).
Iām a VR user and I was getting around 50FPS with it, so pretty happy.
Havenāt tried E variant, but it seems to me glass gauges in general kill FPS extremely quickly, so Iām very happy to stay with steam gauge planes.
Yup, itās the bitmap files that the XML gauges use in fact that 's hitting FPS on glass screens. Talking to Asobo now about ways around it - PNG files work well but cannot project images, trying to figure out a solution.
Well, I am enjoying this aircraft and the development path.
This video was taken before yesterdayās update - low flying in Grand Canyon.
Frame rate was perfectly acceptable. I have great CPU but only a 1070 GPU.
Would welcome advice. I canāt seem to set the NAV1 Freq in anything but the āEā
Left hand panel, up front, is NAV and COM frequency dials, COM frequency readouts are displayed in the radar window, NAV in the HUD. Swap button is just alongside the dials themselves.
Thanks Dean. I am using the NAV dial to change the freq as I do in the āEā however I was looking at the right hand panel for the readout to change and it just stays at 110.50
I will take a look at the HUD readout
Delete it since clearly doesnāt working
Hi guys, I have updated the F15 yesterday to 0.2.0 and indeed a lot of bugs have been fixed. My only remark is the when the plane is on the ground or in flight when I zoom out, the gear on the ground disappears and in flight when zooming out, the pilots, bombs, tanks are gone. When I zoom in again the pilots, bombs, tanks are back again. On the ground when zooming in the gear is also back again. I tried several settings in MSFS2020 also the resolution to the highest but no improvement. Who has the same issue?
Hi,
I think this is due to a setting within the sim itself. The high res model only loads at a certain viewing distance - you can see this on all aircrafts. Not sure if the threshold can be adjusted.
Cheers
Stephen
This is the LOD models for performance, so that the computer isnāt trying to draw the full aircraft even when itās a long way away and you canāt see fine detail. Same for all stock aircraft. Some, such as the MB-339, donāt have this feature and so are hard on multiplayer users ( or it was, might have been updated by now ).
