with the new update at 35,000 feet anything below 91% thrust/throttle will just cause me to drop in speed rapidly is this normal?
With the New update, there is no more screen of the choosen altitude and also the VS Speed.
There where on the right panel under screen NAV.
This can be the reason why i canât modifi the AP Altitude et the VS altitude i suppose ?
Why this choice ?
Hi, @joneffingvo, above 89% what you have is afterburner and between 86%-89% what you have is max military thrust throttle. About the altitude, what you experiment is totally normal according to the flight envelope. Thrust decreases with altitude in absence of drag and air pressure, but also you are allowed to do the max speeds with AB on:

Blue line would be the max speeds at mil thrust. Vs altitude. Orange line would be the max speeds with full AB.
If we take the graph and check for example 35000ft: max military thrust would allow cruise at Mach 1,05, while with AB full, yould be able to reach Mach 2.3
Max Speed of 2.5 should be reached at 45000ft, while max military thrust would be Mach 1.
At sea level: mil thrust should be 0.987 and full AB max Mach should be 1.2
Also the speeds varies according sea level temperature. That envelope belongs to a test made with 38000lbs and 15 degrees Celsius at sea level. If the temperature of sea level increases, the top speeds decreases, and viceversa, if temp is lower at sea level, speed increases.
So if you fly for example in Alaska you will trespass Mach 2.5 barrier easily and if you do near Florida the max speed decreases.
@jdiegel54 is an expert in what regards to this because is his expertise.
Olaf what do you mean?
Hi Jack,
I love the sound of the new version and the sonic boom. Great
But for my opinion it is too loud. The ATC is hardly to understand. I reduced the engine sound in the general options from 100 to 10% which is good for me.
In F15C is the fuel flow gauge of the left engine not working.
The AP begins to oscilate when changing the heading.
But thanks it is realy a great plane and a lot of fun.
Rudy, since is an unofficial update maybe we committed some mistakes when assembling. We have made some minor changes, included some issues Boston Jeremy detected on âIâ. Should be fixed In the official one.
Thx to all for your hard work and for all the changes during the last weeks. Now it is really nice to fligh with the F-15.
cu in the sky
I mean that.
first screen is the old. You can see on your right under nav the number for the altitude and Vs (which are 0 for this exemple).
Olaf sorry, I donât get right what you mean but anyway, the update added some switches like hud, I attach you this for HUD:
The rest of avionics screens are commanded by the avionics switch in the right.
Hope it helps
The version 1.0.1 is ready to download
The old text that appeared there has been removed, and only shows the NAV and ADF frequencies now. There is no ALT or VS select in the Eagles unless Jack adds them, and he can also add that text back if he wishes via the NAV_PANEL xml gauges.
I agree !!!

I know, itâs hugely bright! I will note this down for a future update, to have those mirrors fold up in some way. I noticed that this had been done in the DCS Eagle, always wondered why they did that, now I know
Great work Dean, this has really come to life. with 1.0 yesterday so excited for 1.01 when I get home from work. If in the future a night or day hud switch, maybe ?
Mike
Sorry that you donât like it, but almost everybody wanted a brighter HUD display - the problem there is that itâs not an issue of brightness at all, but the fact that just as in real life, brilliant white light from clouds and low sun obscures even the real aircraftâs HUD. The solution, also as per the real aircraft, is to tint the windshield a little to help. I have encountered no problems with this and most users seem to like it, but we will never be able to please everybody unfortunately.
Yes, as I learn how to implement more features this will become a âthingâ - however the brilliant bright light obscuring the HUD is a bit of an MSFS and also a real-life thing, so that will probably never be something that can be entirely fixed. Toning down the brightness for night flying will be much more achievable in the future though
Perfect that is exactly what I was getting to. Its just at night. Thanks again.
Hey DOYEN01973, in fact, if itâs not visible, for me personally i donât care, but not to change the altitude and VS with one touch select of keyboard bore me. Even if your update is really fantastic (sound, new switchs, NAV, APP and a lot of other things), it miss me too.
After, if itâs just for me, donât care of it, i take pleasure to flight this Eagle:)
I very much expect that Jackâs mod will bring back the AP controls for you, itâs not something heâd have trouble with I donât think
