It’s not as easy as that with MSFS unfortunately, if it were, I would do so without hesitation. I might be able to texture them with a tint instead of adjusting the material, so that users could remove the texture for a clear glass again, but then they’d have trouble seeing the HUD in bright sunlight. What we really need is a gauge-projection system in MSFS that actually works well, so I could then just tint the HUD glass and be done with it.

Thank you for your reply. Now I understand the problem with replacing the windshield. No worries, I do enjoy your excellent product every moment up in the air, even with “sunglasses”.

I’m really not liking the dark window on the newest update. Flying at night in VR is just no fun anymore. :pensive:

Trying to add more visibility to AP modes in MFD:

Hope you like it

Very nice !!

Here we go!

dcdesigns-aircraft-f15_v.1.0.1_rev_1.14m.pln!

Changelog:

  • Added more visibility to AP functions in the MFD for models E/I:

They will show up only when A/P Master is on.

As reminding, the autopilot switches are here:

Just IAS hold is disabled on purpose, since problems reported in other aircrafts where disengagge autothrottle was impossible once engagged.

  • Fixed landing lights retractable behaviour: now they will turn on only and just only once the landing gear is 100% extended (so you won’t see any more two lights floating in the air). Also, you can disable them in ground (before this update you couldn’t unless you turned off battery and avionics).

Instructions:

  • Rename from *.pln to *.rar and drop dcdesigns-aircraft-f15_v.1.0.1_rev_1.14m folder in your community folder.
  • Remove dcdesigns-aircraft-f15_v.1.0.1_rev_1.14k from your community folder or any previous mod (this is mandatory).

Should match like this:

dcdesigns-aircraft-f15_v.1.0.1_rev_1.14m.pln (79.1 KB)

Best regards!

Works well, thanks.

Big difference in Hud between the C and the E though. In VR E is readable, but the C is practically unuseable for me. Very hard to see. Refresh rate is medium. E is bigger so that helps a lot, not much you can do about it I guess.

Hi good morning Jack,
with 1.14m somthing happend to the F-15D HUD speed indication. I think the last digit is missing.
Regards

Big Time!!! Thanks

Saw you flying last nigh over New England. I fly in that area often too. Cheers. Thanks for input on this project too.

i’ll look into it @jdieguel!

How do you see the fonts size?

Should i increase them?

@CodenameJack447 there’s been a lot of talk about AP throughout this thread and it’s tough to search all thru this huge thread. Have you considered putting together a little Word doc manual or PDF describing how to use the AP. It would be very helpful.

Hi, I don’t often use the autopilot but have found I can’t steer the aircraft manually with just altitude hold selected. Some aircraft I have do allow this but not all. What’s the thinking on this aircraft ?

Hey @PridedThread577, yes you are right there much be a config which allows that behaviour.

But i don’t remember with which aircraft can you do that actually
Is there a plane in stock that you could confirm that it does? To look myself into systems.cfg and check diferences

i will need time to do it, but few post ago i opened a thread with that regard, although is a bit outdated but could serves you.

Here it is:
