I have been experiencing sudden loss of power to the radio and GPS units in the DC3 while in mid-flight or even while just idling on the ramp. I am on batteries, and the engines are running fine, all other systems are working, but the power to the radio and GPS suddenly fails for no apparent reason. I don’t know if there are fuses available to be checked on this aircraft (I couldn’t find them).
Did you check the Inverter? Left-Up panel.
Thanks for the suggestion. Yes, the inverter is turned on.
One of the principle causes of power to avionics suddenly disappearing, is a mod conflict.
This can happen to most sim aircraft.
Thanks, that’s likely my issue. I’m running the Duckworks enhancement package for the DC3, so that could be causing the issue. I’ll try without and see what happens.
If you run on idle for some time it can happen that battery are drained and not loaded any more. Therefore avionics quit. Try to give some more throttle and avionics should return to active.
It may indeed be, but if memory serves me, that issue has to do with the starter switch being left in the start position, which can indeed drain the battery.
This is a new release, I’m not sure this issue will be affected by the switch problem, and when the switch problem does happen it generally shuts the whole electric system down completely.
This worked! I also have the booster pump on, turned that off, and gave it some throttle, and everything came back to life. If you go back to idle everything turns back off.
