This has been talked about alot but how is it today? I have a mid range PC but I have settings lower so most Airports work ok at leat.
The freeware version is quite good but is it worth to upgrade now? (as in Black Friday 2023)?
Might as well use this Topic. Are there any DD Airports that do have good perf? Narita? Anything :).
As you posted, already discussed a lot in other threads. Works great on my Xbox series X. YMMV on PC, I have no idea. Good flying!
Yes that is the dilemma. I use PC so that would be the thread then ;).
So far everything I have seen on YT seems to say “stay out of this” that is why I hoped there was something more current.
It works better updated since launch in my experience.
I can only say that on both my XBX and PC with a Ryzen7 3700X with a GTX1070 and flying either the C172 g1000 or the Pipistrel Virus, I don’t have problems at any of the DD airports I’ve tried. It should be noted though that the PC was set to 1440. The XBox is set to 4k.
it is a bit heavy on frames, especially if you’re running some sort of traffic injection. There’s some optimization options like turning off interiors, passengers, static planes etc which helps.
If you need a number i sit around 20-30 frames on the ground with no traffic. Was there last night on vatsim with about 5-6 planes on the ground with minor stutters but nothing horribly game or immersion breaking. Still smooth 97% of the time.

for what it’s worth, most if not all DD airports have had comments about its performance. Iniscene airports are also pretty heavy duty (LAX and LHR come to mind)
How would you rate it vs the freeware Gatwick. That is by far the heaviest ap I have so far. I use FSLT but with reduced settings. I need some for immersion.
Well thanks for all the opinions. I got it and with traffic toned down a bit it works nice.
I have not used the gatwick freeware. I could not give you a good comparison.
However if you don’t have at least an upper mid-range system are more likely to encounter performance drops without proper tweak. Even my modest PC gets 20-25 frames on the ground with ground aircraft and interior passengers turned off and picks back up to 40-60 after takeoff
Surprisingly this Airport performs better than some of the deluxe airports. Happy with it :). Makes for a nice Hub when flying in North.
