Dear Jorg, please read this

MS and Asobo have left it for us, the players, to fill in where they haven’t actioned.

SDK was released exactly for the players to personally modify the small airfields around where they are centered.

Some of the airfields I have modified have more than one runway. I have only utilised the runway pointing into the prevailing wind, the SW direction.
The most used airstrip is evident on arial photo images.

I have a list of seventeen airfield folders in my Community folder.

They are very simple and they would probably be disapointing to other players. They only have one Ramp, because I can only fly one aeroplane at a time. They are OK for me.
This is why I prescribe each player modifying their own group of small fields.

My local game runs great.

As for ‘ghosts’, there is one aerodrome near me with a ghost aaroplane.
Castle Bromwich, where in 1943, a Spitfire crashed, killing the lady ferry pilot.
It can be heard on occasions.

Another Ghost is P/O ‘John the Pilot’.
Of University of Birmingham Air Squadron.
Crashed and killed at RAF Castle Bromwich in an Avro Anson. Co-pilot also killed.
Testing after repairs.

My 2 year old son chatted with ‘John the pilot’ for several months when we lived in Castle Bromwich.

I have spent 10 hours trying to assign commands to controllers in 2024. I still do understand even one of the basics. Because there is no manual. And worse, there is no tutorial.

The tutorials on Youtube by 3rd parties are sloppy and poorly organized because they were not made by professionals. None of them have helped me.

10 hours (so far)!

In the 2020 sim I learned how to do almost all of this in 1 hour by trial and error without any major issues.

Does MS / Asobo want to start getting positive reviews? Then please make a controller assignment tutorial. That is the major number one issue and complaint with this sim on Avsim forum. All other issues are trivial compared to this one.

Hello @DartoFielder,

There is an FAQ guide on how to bind controls on our Zendesk support site here:

Thanks,

I agree with you :100:

Have to respectfully disagree here.

FS20 and FS24 are leaps and bounds ahead in realism when compared to FS2004. I am certainly not looking back with rose tinted eye glasses on. For me FS24 has been awesome. With the exception of a few minor bugs seen so far (1x pink AI aircraft - missing textures I assume, and three Airbuses superimposed over each other taking off at EGSS) I have been having a real blast with this game.

I feel deceived. This isn’t a new sim. You have created a marketplace that is designed for cheating the community. This is the old Visual Studio model: buy the new version AND buy all the plugins again. I already had all the planes. What did I pay $300 for?

@OldpondGL. I have to agree with you on this. me myself cant see much difference from MSFS2020 to be Honest I think MSFS2020 is better in Quality than MSFS2024. I still have not done any flight YET in MSFS2024. and Im not happy. your always going to get the certain people saying oh its great what we moaning about. I tend to ignore them. best way. Im annoyed at MSFS for releasing an unfinished Product and still its a Complete mess. Have you seen the Clouds its a disgrace clouds are better in MSFS2O2O. And the LIVE weather is Rubbish. i did a test and went to certain places in world where they have storms and it was Not correct at all. We were Promised so much But got so little. we were Lied too.

Got to ask but how can you judge a game when you’ve not even done a flight in it yet? At least try a flight.

You’re right about some saying it’s great (I’m one of them), though I wouldn’t say what are you moaning about. Everybody is having a different experience. Some moan because it’s justified. Some will moan over the tiniest things for the sake of moaning.

I completely agree with what you wrote down here!

My experience is the same and I have therefore decided to return MSFS2024 to the developers and i get a refund.

Why did I decide to do this?

The whole experience with the new sim is so up side down compared to the old 2020 version, that I don’t see Asobo being able to rectify it in a short time.

The overall interface is much less user-friendly than of the 2020 version. Aircraft I was used to flying are no longer work and that takes a lot of time to get them back on track.

Asobo has made the decision for a cloud-based solution for FS 2024 which involves streaming of aircraft and scenery. It’s only done to lower the amount of data storage on the Xbox. It’s maybe great for Xbox users, but unnecessary for almost every PC user.

Microsoft has stated before the launch that MSFS2024 will be fully optimised for the Xbox and that’s what Asobo has done. The result is a streaming immersion-breaking experience and that doesn’t work. MSFS2024 don’t give the same stable experience from start to end of a flight as in MSFS2020.

The overall experience in MSFS2024 is therefore definitely not my cup of tea.
I enjoy flying in MSFS2020 and not in MSFS2024.

Let the 2024 version for Xbox and the 2020 for the PC then we will be all happy.

But i think this is wishfull thinking from me, because MSFS2020 will die in a few years (R.I.P.), because off less support from Asobo and 3d party developers.

Optimised for Xbox?

They may have stated that, but it’s far from optimised for Xbox. How about you keep 2024 and I will have 2020 for my Xbox, and I will be happy.

2024 is in a bad place on both platforms!

Then i was a optimist, because I thought the 2024 release was good for something.

Why should it die? I don’t hope so. In the state 2020 is now I’d like to use it for many years coming flying the aircraft I have now. It could become a stable platform (actually it is already), something you can always return to knowing it just works while 2024 is taking shape.

I really don’t hope so either. But if MSFS 2024 really proves to be unpopular because of the issues at launch, Microsoft could decide to pulls MSFS 2020 servers so that it could drive up the FS2024 player count.

It’s not the servers that is the problem, but development will stop.
3d party developers and also Asobo will stop delivering upgrades to MSFS2020 in a short time.

That’s why I said “flying the aircraft I have now”. I don’t need anything new.

I also stay as long as i can and Asobo allow me to use there servers.

I thought Jorg said 2 years ago or maybe even before that, that working title would revamp ATC in msfs2020! Only minor changes seem to have been made! As Russ Barlow said at the launch of 2020 great scenery does not make a great sim!!

Two sims and platforms. Imo phase out 2020. Don’t support it till 2028. Is that a foretell of FS 2028? Is the plan to have 2 sims?

Imo just put energy and resources into 1
