I honestly believe they knew all this and thought it would be faster to release the game and let the public do all the bug finding…we’re basically working for them for free.
If it was a few bugs then sure, who cares. BUT this isn’t just a few bugs, its literally unplayable. I remember a certain game was released by EA and was in such bad shape they were threatened with a group legal action for not giving refunds.
I don’t know why they didn’t just call it FS25 and release it in a better state later.
Yeah 2020 is a much larger download/install but at the moment it’s as good as it gets and honestly 2020 is very good. Took a while to get there but it’s awesome now. That’s why the promise of something even better with 2024 is what so far makes it such a bitter disappointment.
So it’s normal to take forever for the updates lol at the moment the screen just says installation manager 1//5 - checking for updates and it could stay like that for hours
I installed my copy of 2020 on my son’s laptop over the holidays. The initial download took about 12hrs. Download speeds would sometimes drop as low as 4mb/sec but would generally hover around 30-40mb/sec. Ridiculous but that’s how it is. The trade-off is less data streaming while you’re playing which seemed to work perfectly fine but here we are with 2024.
No that’s not normal. If you cancel and start over it should pick up where it left off and get things moving again. Also using a VPN can sometimes speed things up. I recently reinstalled MSFS 2020 and it took less than 4 hours including the updates.
Someone on reddit pointed out to me that at the end of this blog update, it says “NEXT DEVELOPMENT BLOG UPDATE - January 9th, 2025”. It’s nearly 3pm in France. Do you think we will hear something by the end of their work day? Further radio silence would be really concerning.
Nobody from our team has posted that today’s Development Update Blog post is canceled. It will be published at approximately 4pm PST (0000 UTC) as always.
