Welcome to the 71st flight event across the Gunpilot’s Challenging Flights series. This challenging Flights event will be conducted in the the Amazonian jungles of Brazil , and is again guaranteed to give you more of the unique and challenging flight experience that you have come to expect from Gunpilot’s flight events.
This flight is a “Legless” format event, but with a twist that you have come to expect when flying along on one of Gunpilot’s planned flights. We will be navigating too, and landing at, small gold mining airstrips located in the dense Amazon jungle.
But unlike previous such LEGLESS adventure flights, we will be flying with Multiplayer turned on, which one would think would make it an easy event. However, along the way you will have to deal with broken clouds and some rain, as well as having to make navigational decisions that may see you either getting ahead, or behind, other pilots and their aircraft, depending on choices you will make along the route.
No ATC will be provided in this flight, but even if your time and heading calculations let you down you should be able to still reach your WPs as you may be able to get visual clues from other aircraft positions. And don’t be alarmed if you think you may be off track, it may just be that you have chosen the shortest route to the final destination runway.
Good luck everyone…

RECOMMENDATIONS
Cessna Caravan as all landing and other challenges built into flight are
tailored for this aircraft specifically
Turn Damage mode off as you will most likely suffer at least hard
landings if not full on crashes
Bring plenty of Duc Tape for running repairs
Crash Helmets are optional, Prayers are advisable
Embrace “SLEW” as it will be your friend by the end of the flight
Practicing to make Caravan landing approaches at IAS of between 40-50knts max will see you nailing difficult landings with ease and precision.
Make it easy on yourself to navigate around the route and accurately pinpoint the exact landing areas by downloading and using the free “LittleNavMap” s/w you can get on the web - you will never open the standard sim VFR Map again once you have tried this fantastic app that integrates seamlessly with MSFS2020.

As usual, no plan will be available, when you connect into the Comms Radio channel on Gunpilot’s server you will be provided with the starting airport code and the heading and distance details to the first landing strip. And as you reach each strip, you will find a billboard that will give you navigation details to reach the next strip.
There are two files required for this event which you will locate on Gunpilot’s server in the #gunpilots-events channel. The first will load all the navigational billboards into each mining strip (called DECISIONS DECISIONS) and the second will provide you with all the mining strips found in the area (file called “pistas-de-garimpo…”). Load both of these files into your Community folder for the event.
(You will not need to load the second file if you have previously already loaded the “Pistas…” file)
