In the graphics settings, the options for character quality, traffic airport quality, air/road/sea traffic, and fauna are all limited to simplistic presets. These presets control the density, quality, and display distance for those particular options. I would like to see an option to split those factors into their own setting sliders.
For example, if I set the traffic airport quality to to medium, there is hardly any ground aircraft and activity at times. If I set it to high, there is so much at larger airports that it kills my frame rates. Having a separate quantity and quality slider (the display distance could be moved into the OLOD slider) would allow for fine tuning settings and having a more balanced system. A quantity slider would let me keep enough aircraft no matter where I am without being too busy. Alternatively, simply having a maximum aircraft option could act as a safeguard against bogging down the CPU. I don’t pixel peep other aircraft, so I would love to be able to set the quality lower independent of the quantity, keeping my GPU freed up for my own aircraft and other nearby scenery.
The same sort of logic would apply to the other settings I listed as well, but airport aircraft seem to be the largest resource impact for me.
