Decrease in FPS and GPU usage after 1.12.13.0 (i9-9900K/3080/32GB/NVME)

Things I’ve noticed after the latest update:

5-7 FPS lower
Avg GPU usage about 20% lower
it seems like usage is spread out a tad more evenly across the cores.

Anyone noticing similar?

Yep I’ve noticed the same.
Running an Ryzen 5 3600 with an RTX3070. Tested last night and tonight and there’s about 3-5 FPS difference for me. Lots of stuttering so I opened up my RivaTuner and the GPU usage was lower than usual. I’m not impressed…

It would seem my GPU isn’t being hit as hard as it normally is, but I’m seeing no difference in performance. Flying a familiar route in a familiar plane and getting my normal 35-ish fps.

I don’t see any difference in CPU performance. Still limited by main thread. Seeing the same numbers I normally do.

I’m back to being limited by the CPU again and lost at least 10-12+ FPS even in the non-glass cockpits out in the boonies away from cities. It’s arguably now the worst it’s ever been for me . It was great before, now it’s a stuttering mess over the photogrammetry cities. Ryzen 3900, RTX2070 Super, and 32 GB ram.

Me too, but I actually lost 18 fps in the A320.
I have benchmarks in this thread: Low CPU utilisation and Limited by mainthread

So, do date I have not ver experienced performance issues. I custom built my pc but made sure when I built it that everything was totally compatible. Have those who have issues checked online with a pc build checker to see if everything is fully compatible?

Since the USA update, the trees of the photogrametric cities are killing my RTX 3080 in 4K Ultra… In particular in low level flight.

Central Park in New York is at 13-15 FPS at 200-300 feets…I come back to 30 FPS + when I fly back to the buildings…

Anyone seeing same issue ? I would like to see if 3090 users with 24GB Vram have the same issue or not. This would confirm the hypothesis of running out of Vram, even if Developper mode say otherwise…(telling me I still have a little of Vram available)

Never had issues with the sim performance from update to update. Always smooth, in large airports like MCO can drop a little bit but still very playable and smooth.

My spec is a mid spec :
I9-9900K stock with water cooling (51c at load)
32GB 3200mhz Ram
GeForce 2080 Super
2x 2GB Samsung EVO SSDs.

No problems here at all either, 5800X with an RX5700XT. Working great, even in the A320 and 747.

Still getting the same smooth performance as before the patch.

I also experienced a performance increase and even less stutters (I7-7700 / GTX1060)

I even seems the ‘Glass cockpit’ settings can be switched to high again without a performance drop. That said, I think they have only moved the problem to the external (instrument) view which is more stuttering.

I’m also seeing a similar decrease… 9900KF and 2080 FE. Hasn’t performed this poorly since the alpha.

I’m also seeing a similar decrease… I9 10900k and 2080Ti, micro stuttering and about 20 fps loss after about 30-45 min flght, It is normal at start, the only way to solve the problem is to go back to main menu and restart.

Try restarting PC? This usually fixes most of my problems with MSFS

Jep, same… 4 -7 fps loss and gpu using 3-15 %.

2080 ti
I9 9900K
64 GB RAM 3200

4k high seting

GPU usage in cockpit now is 60%…was 100% pre patch. When I switch to external view, it goes up to 90%… was 100% pre patch. No difference in CPU usage.

I am also noticing new stutters. FPS seems to be lower but not 100% confident.

RTX 3080, i7-10700k.

I‘m getting the same decrease in internal view!
GPU usage is now only 60-70 % Most of the time.

it’s not your system I have a gigabyte rtx 3080 with 10 gb vram i7-9700k and 32 gb ram after update I saw a small drop in fps the sim needs lots of optimizing there is still a long way to go but eventually will get there.

every update , the FPS drop 3-5fps ,some small airport can up to 60fps but in downtown drop to 30-40 . what a bad sound

MSI afterburner shows that this game is using single core at about 90%. other threads are at about 40-50%. (9400f)
GPU usage is only 30-40% (rtx3070)
this game with current state is not plable
