In my very short time testing new SU8 update Im very impressed, performance seemed excellent in the default a320neo, this is on xbox series x.
I know there was a few fixes with default a320 in this update, but anyway these are things I felt improved, note that some could just be placebo, but maybe some others can chip in with anything they feel is different.
Lights on a320 seem brighter, I instantly noticed that the green and red nav lights seemed more noticeable, that goes for the landing lights as well.
Flaps 1, I seemed to notice them extend more, it was at night though so maybe not?
Engine sounds, wow, this I believe was noted as worked on in SU8, it is much much better, general sounds with the a320 just seem a lot better, especially engine sound.
Climb performance, better?? , at takeoff I climbed a lot quicker than in SU7.
Not much else as I had to come off it, night lighting seemed great though, here is me taking off from Heathrow. Even these pics dont do it justice, it was darker and the lights a lot brighter.

i did one very short test and now it seems that it doesn’t struggle anymore climbing (tomorrow will test from fl330 to 380, today just had the time to get to fl260 but it was nice to see the improvement)
so big fix in climb power department
also and I really hope it wasn’t just pure luck it seems constraints were working, showing the correct altitude for each approach waypoint
I do really hope it got fixed because it’s another one BIG fix
on the other side it seems that the autopilot when engaged still hard banks to one side than back on track

Does anyone else think the a320 engine sounds have changed slightly?
Would love to get confirmation from Asobo.
- Fixed combustion sound level in idle
this is stated in the patch note

Yeah saw that, but that’s just one area, to me sounds seem different/better all round with the a320.
For those who have the livery/enhanced A320neo sound pack - which do you prefer? These, or the upgraded default after SU8?
Climb performance seems to massively improved. Anyone seeing this ?

Yes, a320 reached 8000ft in no time, didn’t test it for much longer as had to come off sim.
Anyone else on Xbox either series getting engine sound loss after using external cameras?
I’ve reset system and cleared caches but still loose sound on A320 and 737 after using external view or forwarding to approach
Yes it climbs way too fast under 10,000 ft, like 4-5000 fpm, too much. However, you can climb to 38,000 ft with no problem at all using managed speed at 320kts. Doesn’t seem too realistic to me though.

Outside engines sound way smoother and not harsh anymore.

Yes, the engine sounds are awesome. Much more realistic. The CLB performance is better too however 4-5K VS after rotation is a bit excessive. My passengers probably thought they were heading to space, lol. I haven’t heard the minimums callout when landing though. I thought that was supposed to be fixed? Also, the banking hard left or right when enabling the autopilot is very annoying. All in all, I’m happy they are making improvements.
I wish the FMS would have more functionality and while at cruise, the jet shouldn’t bank hard when moving to the next waypoint. Even if the turns are minor.

Haha, yeah on takeoff I noticed the flight guidance on the display wanted me to pull up a lot more.

There is a way to change the steep climb. You have to go into the engine.cfg and lower the static thrust. There is a file to fix the climb at flightsim.to but that was for an earlier version, and it was for people complaining that it didn’t climb fast enough. I remember trying it out and thought it was a little excessive, so I didn’t use it. So, fiddling with the engine.cfg you might be able to come up with a happy medium.

The mĂnimums call its only for 748
Sound is finally fixed, and the cockpit actually looks better than before - I think they changed the geometry here and there, and the whole thing looks sharper. Both the in-cockpit textures and the screens as well. Everything is easier to see and read. Haven’t actually flown yet but if the climb performance is fixed as well then it’s a brilliant update.

Notice huge improvements some good some not realistic.
From takeoff to FL360 in 11 minutes 135,444 Lbs GW
Fuel Burn now is around 3,000 lbs per hour, before SU8 was 4,000 lbs per hour.
With 42,000 lbs capacity you can do 12+ hours long haul and still have enough reserve fuel, very unrealistic when the aircraft specs range is 3,300 nm about 7.5 hours.

Copy. Guess I missed that little tidbit

@timinorlando I guess you are speaking to PC operators? I should’ve tagged my reply as Xbox.
