Default C-172 and the GTN mod

I flew the C172 [G1000] and i have the GTN mod in the community folder. Works ok.

Tried the 6-pack C172 and it does not open with the GTN. Is there a switch somewhere to activate? Thanks!

The 6-Pack C172 has literally no space for a GTN… because it is a 6 pack not a G1000 avionics base. It uses the far smaller GNS530/430 combo.

In order for the GTN750 to work, the plane needs to either be equipped with a G1000, or has to be custom made to accept it, like the Carenado and a few other 3rd party planes.

G1000 planes will replace the MFD with the GTN while keeping the G1000 bezel, whereas the compatible 3rd party planes will have a proper GTN bezel.

OK, thanks for that. I’m clear now that the 5-pack C172 doesn’t allow the GTN mod.
