Thank you very much!
I have it working but unfortunatly this fix missed the public update for a couple of hours. Iāve made the fix on the same night I released the last update. There are a few more fixes I want to add but for a couple of weeks I donāt have time to work on the mod. As soon as I have them, Iāll release a new update.
Hello lolā¦firstly what a wonderful modā¦thank you very much. I am having a problem using this in FS2020 where when I land both engines quit on roll out. Iām managing all he temperatures etc and have butter smooth landings. Any help would be great appreciatedā¦thanks JB
Fuel pumps on?
Oopsā¦Iām getting to oldā¦Alex you had replied back on this already so Iāll try your suggestions and report backā¦tks JB
Thanks for the replyā¦will try that also
Thanks for this mod Alex, itās incredible! You turned a pretty disappointing release from Carenado / Asobo into something truly special.
Is there a way to assign the oil shutters to a physical control? I find it really difficult to move those levers accurately in vr. Iāve read a bunch of posts about lvars, but no post really explains how. Iāve downloaded spad.next, but I canāt find anything in the discord about it.
Thank you so much!
Is this a screenshot from spad.next? Donāt see anything that resembles that. When I click āadd actionā ā āchange data eventā, it canāt find Denarq at all.
Is the plane loaded? LVARS are only evident when the plane is running.
Yes Spad. Also itās an axis not a button, as JP said have the plane loaded
Thank you for the replies folks. Restarting spad fixed my issue. Not working yet, but Iām making progress lol. Thanks!
The flightsim.to download file seems to be damaged? Downloaded on three different computers and get a āfile is damagedā error when I attempt to extract it.
Anyone else experiencing this?
Finally got 2024 working in VR (thanks to SU4) and have come back to my favourite plane.
I have got it all working, and the flight model seems so much better than it was in 2020 (especially the ground handling). Thanks for all the hard work. It is much appreciated.
Just a couple of items I canāt figure. The rear right tank always shows empty when checking fuel quantities (It must have fuel as the engine runs on it
)
Is there any way of re-calibrating the HSI. I am not sure if it is drift, but by the end of my first flight it was about 10 degrees off the magnetic compass and I just canāt find a way of resetting it. Up to now the default key an all flight sims has always been D, but this no longer works. I did find a setting in the controls menu which was āSet heading indicator driftā, so I assigned D to that and pressed it, ,but it had not effect.
There is a seting for correcting gyro drift ā¦but cant remember what its called!
I like the gyro drifting (it is realistic), but would love to know the hot key for resetting it (like D used to do in 2020, FSX, FS9, P3D - god knows why they had to change all the keys in 2024)
If one of your rear tank shows empty, you need to repair the float for the fuel gauge. See p. 12 of the manual about this. As for directional gyro drift, I do like that realism and you can always reset it manually with the knob on the HSI (I believe it works, but havenāt tried it in a while). As for using a key press, it appears that the 2024 key binds still have āDā to reset the heading, but I have not tried it as I set my keyboard back to 2020 bindings (that is one of the keyboard profiles available in 2024).
Ok, some corrections are in order here. I was correct on the rear fuel tanks - I just had the issue myself and using the miniflo-L monitor, you can reset this.
However, as for the directional gyro drift, I was totally wrong. My only excuse is that I havenāt, sadly, flown this plane in a while. I believe this airplane has a remote compass that corrects the directional gyro drift, so you should never have to correct it. That is why, contrary to what I said earlier, there is no knob on the directional gyro to set it to the magnetic compass. There are knobs for setting the course and the heading bug only.
There is a control (see photo) for switching the directional gyro between slave and free, and adjusting the directional gyro if set to free. However, this is not functional, either in the default Carenado version or in the Denarq mod. I donāt believe Alex, the developer, modified this feature at all, as there is no mention of the compass or directional gyro in the manual. So, theoretically, the directional gyro should never differ from the compass. Nonetheless, it appears that it can get off. I have vague memories of using the D key to correct as indicated above, but it has been a while since Iāve flown this and I could be confusing that with other planes. There are some entries in this topic discussing this, but no apparent resolution. I will play with it some more to see what I can determine.
I finally had a chance to take the Denarq Beech 18 for a nice flight in MSFS 2024 and check out the directional gyro drift. It does drift, despite the gyro apparently being slaved to a remote compass. And, in MSFS 2024 (with the default keyboard bindings), pressing D on the keyboard does correct for this and sets the directional gyro to the compass heading.
Of course, one can always turn off the directional gyro drift feature in the settings, but as long as you are aware of the drift and can correct it with a keyboard click, it works fine.
I noticed the drift of the directional gyro too.
The slaving panel is non-functional, but the switch on it is in the slaved position, so in an ideal world (or a simulation thereof) we shouldnāt have to bother with gyro drift at all. But we do.
In MSFSā controller setup I found an entry called āSet Heading Indicatorā. In the keyboard profile I bound this to a key (I used Alt + D), that resets the drift of the directional gyro to zero. I found that with the default MSFS 2024 keyboard profile pressing āDā did nothing.
Also, when youāre using Spad.next or AAO, there is an event called SIMCONNECT:HEADING_GYRO_SET that, when fired at the sim, resets the gyro drift to zero.
Maybe a future version of the Denarq mod will send the HEADING_GYRO_SET event every couple of minutes or so, to keep the directional gyro properly slaved.
