Recently I got interested in creating a custom FS panel that will have an Arduino board that can interface to MSFS via Mobiflight. I have a basic first draft of how it should look. It will be a panel for mainly Garmin and Boeing aircraft. It should have have about 5 “rows” of stuff and be about 30cm wide (12 inches). Also it should be for navigation and piloting etc and Not include external gears, flaps, spoilers controls etc.
So how would you design the panel? Draw a picture or show a build.
I used Sketchup to layout mine on the computer.
Then printed each instrument/avionics to actual size and taped them to a piece of MDF board. This way I could measure and make sure is was correct. Also gave a way to visualize how it would look and work.
I am planning on using Fusion 3d. Great tool and free for non commercial use.
I would fly the aircraft to determine what controls I used most often. My 172 button box covers everything I touch. Once the DME is sorted out I will probably redo the box.
