Desk Top Control Decks

Anyone know if there would be conflicts using two different control decks? I have and like the Class Echo to control/input to the G1000 PFD/MFD, Auto Pilot. It utilizes Spad.Next to connect with the Sim. I have difficulty creating aircraft profiles in Spad.Next and only use profiles existing already in Spad. Some other Control devices are easier to retrieve or copy profiles onto them for different aircraft, avionics, etc.

Thinking of getting a more user friendly controller, like Razer Streamdeck, Octavi IFR1, Loupedeck, etc. Any advice from someone using these devices is greatly appreciated. I am searching this forum and YouTube for information.

My apologies, I meant to put this in User Support Hub, not SU 3 Beta Discussion.

Moved to Discussion Hub > Home Cockpit Builders that is more appropriate for this type of question.

Thank You.

It looks like the Loupedeck Live and Live S are no longer being made and sold, except for inventory already out there. So that narrows the choices down.

I’m assuming that you want to use SPAD with the other devices as well.

I have:

Honeycomb Alpha/Bravo
Virpil flight stick and collective
VKB STECS throttle
Class Echo
Streamdeck XL and Streamdeck Plus
MFG Crosswinds rudder

There are no problems using any of them in the appropriate aircraft profiles.
I don’t have an Octavi, but it is in the list of devices supported by SPAD, so I imagine it will also work fine.

One nice feature in SPAD is that you can enable/disable individual control devices on a per profile basis. For example, when I fly a military jet I use my STECS and Virpil flightstick. I disable the Alpha/Bravo. I do the reverse when flying my Bonanza. For helicopters it’s the Virpil stick and collective, and the other devices are disabled.

Thanks for your information, that is good knowledge to have. At this point I’m kind of narrowing down to the Elgato Stream Deck plus. Spad.Next works great with my Class Echo, however, I find it difficult for me to create profiles in it. Way too many steps.

The Stream Deck is easier than the Class Echo. I also use snippets on the latter device.
But I’m actually having a lot of fun programming the Stream Decks.

It’s a process, for sure. But once I figured out a few of the ā€œadvanced beginnerā€ stuff, each plane becomes its own unique thing, complete with custom animated gauges, conditional events (very handy,) flashing lights, sounds, and other cool stuff.

The Class Echo is a great device, but like you, I shy away from trying to set it up from scratch.

It looks like there are other programs that can be used to set up profiles, as well as a lot of pre-made profiles available from different sources.

The big limitation I find with the Class Echo is it is focused only on the G1000, 530 & 430. I am wanting to fly aircraft with other avionics like the G3000, etc.

Agreed about the CE limitations.

There are other programs, for sure. I’m so invested in SPAD that I don’t even think about any other program. I’m sure I’d say the same if I’d started with ā€˜Axis And Ohs’ three years ago.
