Has anyone been able to create a desktop icon for for the sim? In the programs there’s no option for it and in the Xbox app there is but it doesn’t work.
Thanks.

drag it from the start menu to your desktop
I am such an idiot…lol. I assumed since the right click option wasn’t there, you wouldn’t be able to do it. WOW!! What a n00b I am!
The executable is located in the winapp folder but even as admin you will have to change ownership to grab a shortcut from there. Start menu is easier.
Nah, you’re not the first person - we’re no longer used to looking at the start menu these days. I for one welcome the chance to look at it - i found programs i’d forgotten i’d installed
Right click on your Windows Start menu icon and select Run.
Type shell:appsfolder
Find Microsoft Flight Simulator, and create your shortcut
You can just drag it out and it works fine.
How can you make the sim start always in admin mode?
I couldn’t figure it out?
I know that right clicking and choosing works, but would like to just double click.
Edit: Somebody?

I’d like to know that too.
Thanks Frank! That does the trick.
