The issue happens during approach/touchdown. The destination airport is either completely missing, there’s only low-poly model loaded, or the runway is there, but plane clips through it. Instead of smooth touchdown, plane hits the jagged terrain underneath the rwy and flight ends in crash.
Don’t know how to reproduce for sure, but the problem is most likely caused by extremely low speeds at which MSFS communicates with the servers.
MSFS is barely using any of my available bandwidth.
I got a 300Mbit cable connection without any data limit whatsoever, yet MSFS downloads stuff at extremely slow speeds. Sometimes it’s around 10Mbps (which makes it around 1MB/sec, which is obviously not enough - for anything, much less downloading gigabytes of terrain data).
I have never had this kind of problem in any other application whatsoever. My usual download speeds on Steam or Epic are around 40MB/sec.
MSFS was extremely slow to install, and now it’s extremely slow in downloading the terrain.
What’s the reason for it i don’t know. I tried all the usual steps to get rid of the problem on my end, but nothing helped. Every other app/game on my PC downloads data at speeds that match the available bandwidth, NOT MSFS.
Microsoft & Asobo seriously need to rethink the distribution of the data, make deal with the ISPs to stop throttling their particular update/database servers (if that’s what’s happening), or at least create more servers to spread the load.
Minimum requirements to play this game didn’t specify that only customers of certain ISPs can enjoy the game.
