Dev Q&A 25th September - some feedback

You may not care about the log book progress but obviously many do and I think along with any other progress such as the career mode you mentioned should be able to be backed up locally. This would enable a recovery from total loss like has happened to so many. ‘Sorry there’s nothing we can do about our servers and systems losing your data’ is totally un-acceptable. Mitigate this scenario storing a local backup so a user can recover from these total losses. Sure you may lose the last flight or mission which I think most would accept on occasion but not the entire history.

Cloud Gaming supports VR headsets as well

Same. I keep an Excel spreadsheet as my logbook.

True, but that support is only as a player/environment, rather than a means to use, for example, the sim in VR mode.

Instead of needing an Xbox or a phone/tablet, you can use your headset.

i think the question was not about the scenery and the airport but about your reputation, your score, currency, and airplanes that you may loose for not completing a mission

i think martial is the right guy for that, but unfortunately he is at the same time the least fluent in english so there is a bit of a disconnect there… i’m pretty sure that a good chunk of the “forum wars” here can be traced back to something that got lost in translation

better start stacking sandbags

With respect I think you are missing the point.
Basically you make the rules and you decide if what has been posted is within the rules or not.
Now please dont misunderstand. It is your system so you make the rules. Fair enough. But that doesnt mean that there isnt a perception around that at times there seems to be a difference of opinion between the interpretation of those rules by posters and moderators.
It would probably be better if moderators would only consider removing posts if they had been flagged by posters. The fact that at times you remove posts otherwise means that it is therefore YOUR interpretation of the rules. I think that is what is being said. That at times it isnt quite understood how you could possibly interpret a post as inappropriate or offensive or off topic etc.
This makes it sometimes difficult to understand the rules.
But again, dont get me wrong these are just my observations. It is your forum so you can run it any way you want. That is fair enough.

I presume control setting are to be exported from 20 to 24,aren’t they? I have quantum multiplicatons of setups for each of my plane on my gamepad elite… It would take days to build it from scratch :exploding_head:

No it was confirmed that they will not import control settings from 2020 because it has changed too much and is not compatible.

It’d be a good idea to screenshot your 2020 settings for reference.

At least in 2024 we can make control profiles for the category of aircraft and then add per plane overrides for just the specialised mappings you need, so the result should be heaps easier to manage.

You can also export/import and share bindings in 2024.

Xbox users will have access to this as well? That could really help new users find the perfect bindings to fit their needs. Maybe even make a bunch of starting bindings that can quickly be modified to fit each users needs.

I don’t know about the import/export for xbox, Seb described the new functionality in the dev q&a but didn’t talk about any platform differences. Fingers crossed on that one…
