I reiterate the need to ask this questions at the next Q&A following the AAU3 release with it’s issues and no beta testing period.
There are no more Q&As scheduled before the Nov 19 release date. There are still a lot of unanswered questions. I will have to wait for the full release it seems before I make my choice on a purchase or not.
True, but there are a number of developer-focused events on the Asobo roadmap. Information will be coming out, regardless of the lack of additional formal Q&A sessions with simmers.
All the reviews I have seen are all sweetness and light.
The questions I am seeing answered are only the ones that were already answered in the main stream by Jorg and Co. Can anyone confirm that all NDAs are lifted, and reviewers are free to speak out any opinions they have on the product?
I like the idea of horse back riding.
I am surprised there’s not more mods for things that would be “out of place” for a flight sim considering the beauty of the sim. Granted the close up of buildings have the melting issue, but in the woods, i could envision modders doing horses, etc.
I am always surprised that there isn’t more freeware (that i can find) for boats, ships (heck a shipping sim), trains we can ride/drive through the country, smaller water crafts, and even fishing mods.
I loathe the idea of any of this stuff taking away server CPU cycles or bandwidth at the expense of people actually flying.

is there any plans to add the ability to remain at your chosen airport but change plane or livery without starting the whole world map main menu loading process over?

In FS2024, will photogrammetry coverage area for Chicago be enhanced & expanded (like the UK/London) and go west of KORD? As it currently cuts off right at the western edge of Ohare. My home town region is west of KORD so the realism would be greatly improved vs autogen items.

will dual or triple jetways be implemented?

Please detail the check ride process in career mode- meaning how difficult and how long it takes to complete it. ie coming from a mindset of those wanting to just have fun in the new mission types and not care about doing a full career or flying by the book per say. Skip as much as possible.
I am a bit worried, it has been said, if you crash your plane in career mode, you lose the plane completely! just wondering what will happen to the eager simmers who will try the career mode only to crash and burn and lose the aircraft from the sim for good.
I hope they give us a decent SDK to work with, so we can tweak our scenery/career mode for the community folder so all of us including the freeware contributors of flightsim to can benefit.
You’ll not loose it from the sim for good. You’ll just loose it from whatever point your are in your career. If you want it back then presumably you’ll just need to go back and earn enough career points or career money to buy a new one.
There will be a lot of grinding work involved. There always is with career modes.
Making consistent, unassisted, successful landings in which one can reuse the aircraft is not an easy task (and remember, here in the forum, most folks are probably biased above average). Consider also the effects of weather (will it be live?), which could make things spicy. If it’s accurately keeping tabs on damage, it could really raise the bar on general sim-flying abilities, and/or really gatekeep folks from attempting careers.
But while we’re simulating damage, we should also incorporate Brasher warnings. That’d take it to the next level (/s). Though, with the current state of in-game ATC…
Excuse me, there’s about 1 Q&A / week up until release. You can see the schedule at the end of the last Dev Q&A. There’s plenty of time to get questions answered.
There is a screen shot of that in a post above. The next Q&A is listed as the 27 Nov. The other weekly schedule are for market place partners etc.
Yeah exactly. Pretty weak from the streams. So much for oh in September we’ll share more & answer questions. Mind you that’s after 1.5 years of being told we’ll roll out more info soon. Anyway now it’s almost here and still stuck with pre formatted agendas. No q&a till after release. Lame
It’s not like they aren’t going to be answering questions… Yes, it will be focused on the subject, but they’ll answer questions.
Well, Jorg and three members of the SDK team just spent over an hour today answering developer questions from devs so they can continue to support all of us with amazing add-ons, and they seemed to decide on the spot to schedule another SDK session because they had a lot of good questions they couldn’t answer yet.
I think they’re doing pretty good as far as providing a breadth of information.
Meh. To devs. To technical. Not enough attention on regular casual users and gameplay interface and questions. From the lack of q&a for 2024 to career mode forcing required check rides and trainings to get to use missions. For 1.5 years being teased with the same trailer essentially showing vip, cargo, firefighting etc, bragging about how users can go be xyz pilot. Then at the end only to find out it’s locked behind procedural processes; not cool. Sure a segment of the fan base who are about doing things by the book are happy, but no one else is
I think they said you can already skip those steps if you wish.
Not all of them. You’re still forced to take a test or checkride. And lose an aircraft if you crash it.
Having a formal career mode is great. Some like that. But keeping the highly marketed bragged about new plane types and missions behind a career mode vs simultaneously offering simple load and go activities is the wrong move.
I don’t think you lose anything, do you? Unless you mean if you crash you have to re-verify you are able to actually fly the thing safely. That kind of makes sense.
All the new aircraft are available in free flight so not sure what you mean by ‘behind a career mode’. It’s just another way to fly if that’s your thing and has some consequence built in. You can’t make it too easy else it becomes boring very quickly.
