Fuel flow.

About FF (fuel flow) there are some indications that can be useful.
First of all,I made again some tests.
My reference is as always the CAS (not the IAS reading) and for practical reason the Mach number, the only parameter that can be used both on low and high altitude.
Well,if you keep a mach 0.7 (let’s say it’s a “very economy cruise”) at 2000 feet you have a fuel flow of 5500 PPH (pounds per hour)
If you climb at 13000 feet, for the same mach number you have 5000 PPH.
All the tests have been made with a clean configuration.
Keep in mind that a multi-stage turbojet like this does not perform like a turbofan (low or high bypass,it’s the same story) and with the increase of altitude, the efficency of our engine drops.
So
back to tests.
With another step climb to 24000 feet you have more or less 4600/4700 PPH.
With a step climb at 31000 feet you have something like 4800/4900 PPH,due to compressor efficency loss.

Yes,it’s not an economic cruiser,it was made with the “zoom and boom” rule. And it makes it very well.

Thank you, greatly appreciated
 your F-104 ROCKS!!! :100:

temp bug start for real not from 44 as dev said, but from 24-28 some time, i had milviz corsair oil explode at 25 becuse of this

TapeableHeart14 i haven’t the same test
5000 ft M 0.7 4720 PPH
15 K ft M 0.7 4850 PPH
25 K ft M 0.7 5050 PPH
more i climb more i need fuel for the same speed and i say TAS not IAS where for this example M0.7

don’t understand why i havent the same data you have

Not a big problem i love your plane and for me if i want to go far i fly low and slow

For those interested in more information about this aircraft.

Go into the tallyho section where you can read many exciting stories.
A few stories about some “close calls” among other interesting stuff. Enjoy!

Great source of info and also the styling of that website is like stepping into a time machine to the late 90’s

hello,
dunno how you get above data, however i do confirm that FF is correct.
At 20 kfeet and above M 0.7 is a bit aoa unfriend since cas is below 300 kcas.
Flying above 300 Kcas reduces drag.
here my data:

configuration: clean
Initial GW 19000 lbs
steady level flight a M 0.7
Kfeet / FF / RMP%
0.5 / 5000 / 93
5 / 4750 / 92
10 / 4450 / 91
15 / 4200 / 90
20 / 4350 / 92
25 / 4300 / 93
30 / 4200 / 93

I would like repeat that this forum is not the best place to discuss about possible bugs.
there is help-desk@simskunkworks.it dedicated to this purpose.
We apologize since now if sometimes we will not respond or we will respond very late, our time is limited and cannot follow all possible forums about TF-104 G

I know what you mean. Sometimes I miss having to read yellow text on a white background! :grinning:
And the whole page full of repeating gif’s!

Seems to be a mapping issue here on the forward canopy (circled in orange). Note distortion of screws:

Hello again for like the 5th time does anyone know if this plane will make it to the xbox marketplace? I have cash in hand wanting to fly this thing

RCAF Starfighter earliest markings scheme now available for download at Flightsim.to

https://flightsim.to/file/24553/cf-104d-starfighter-rcaf-12640

Lockheed-built CF-104D Mk.1, RCAF serial 12640.

This is how the two seat (dual) aircraft looked while serving with the RCAF in the early sixties, markings include the old national flag of Canada (pre-1965). Hi-visibility red search markings on horizontal tail and in some cases red tip tanks.

Hi,

Love the aircraft but I have a few minor issues:

a. Standby artificial horizon - can’t get it on?
b. Inertial Nav Fault
c. Caution Light remains on
d. No radar display

However, it is superb to fly.

Read the hints document in the DOC folder. All is revealed!

All is clearly explained in the hints pdf as well as in the original F/RF and TF 104 G pdf manual, Doc folder.

Who’s the lead dev of this plane?

I have read both docs.

Some of the switches do not appear to work (ones that are meant to).

I will continue to try.

You can use the mouse to turn the LN-3 selector (right side panel ) to ALIGN. After a few seconds the green light starts flashing and you can turn it one more click clockwise to NAV. This should get rid of the caution light and your ADI and PHI will work now.

ARRRRGGGGHHH found an error in the texture, black “CANADA” titles from another livery project left on intakes. Shouldn’t be there. If you have the version with the CANADA titles on it, please re-download and install again.
