Development of sim skunk works LOCKHEED TF-FRF-104 G

your skins are my favorite for the Starfighter. I will check the your fix. Thank you very much

your fix works only for 50 percent. the ejection seat is missing. Externally and internally.

Well it’s rather strange that the seat doesn’t appear. I have correctly entered the barcode in the aircraft.cfg as recommended by SSW in their docs file page 16.
(i.e. for the present case : atc_id=“GBBC0000”)
I don’t understand why you have this bug.
Do you also have the same problem with my other liveries?

with your skins i have trouble, the standart ones work fine.

I’m disappointed to see that it’s not working for you.
I’m sorry I don’t have any other solutions.

I have verified that in some cases the livery distribution is odd.
I have received one example and i could not install unless have modified the distro itself.
Installing a new livery is in most cases a quite long process
assuming the new livery textures are contained into a folder named “Mylivery”:

  1. Copy into \simskunkworks-aircraft-frf104g\SimObjects\Airplanes\simskunkworks-aircraft-frf104g
    the Mylivery folder
  2. Edit the file \simskunkworks-aircraft-frf104g\SimObjects\Airplanes\simskunkworks-aircraft-frf104g\aircraft.cfg adding a new [FLTSIM.XX] section like this one and
edit the atc_id with your desired configuration (explanation into the file heading)
;use the last number +1
FLTSIM.XX]

last item is to reconstruct the layout.json file using the MSFSLayoutGenerator.exe program as you wrote.
editing the file:

Thank you Mario for this response. I appreciate the time you spend helping us.
I understand the instructions you give for integrating a third-party livery and I will keep them to respond to possible other simmers who have problems with the liveries I have created.

You recommend merging a third-party livery with the liveries provided by SSW in the “mother” folder of the F104 SSW.
As you say, it’s a fairly long process and I will add it assumes that each simmer must have a program capable of editing and modifying the SSW aircraft.cfg file. What not everyone has.
This also assumes that each time SSW updates its F104, the modified aircraft.cfg file and the added livery(s) will be deleted by the update.
Simmers will have to start the manipulation again with each update.

The MS/Asobo procedure which consists of having in Community the third-party livery folders independent of the developers’ “mother” folder is still faster and less restrictive.
This method worked successfully until version V1.3.6.
As you pointed out, rewriting the model code can cause bugs.
But I don’t understand why today with this method of independent files, P1zzarelli has problems and I don’t.

Hello,
i understand your motivation, my way is longer but safer.
A good alternative could be a zipped and well formed file to expandi directly in the mother folder. This can be distributed to other simmers.

Hi all, unfortunately for some time now (I don’t remember exactly from which update) I have not been able to go supersonic with either the single-seater or the two-seater. I did it dozens of times, performing the Snake maneuver without problems: clean configuration, fuel at 40%, climbing in full AB and performing the Snake I easily reached Mach 1.9 at 32,000+ feet. Now not anymore, and even climbing up to 36,000 feet and then putting the aircraft in a dive attitude at around 15° - 20° the aircraft struggles to pass Mach 1 and then settles down to Mach 1.2 before the flare so as not to impact the terrain. In the following level flight the speed quickly drops to Mach 0.7 -0.8 and remains there despite the active AB. I would like to know if anyone else has the same problem and ask Mr. Motta if he can help me find a solution. Thanks.

I tried the latest versions, and with the TF, when I jettison the tip tanks I lose the loading edges of my wings. Everything else seems to work fine.

In the end I discovered (also thanks to the suggestion from Mr. Motta) that the problem was due to the AB not being activated in Full Mode. The peculiarity, however, lies in the motivation.
In fact, for some time I had noticed the anomalous behavior of the throttle: moving the slider dedicated to power in fact a good part of an area was “skipped”, and the AB, although it comes into operation, is not at its maximum
something that I had not noticed . This happened suddenly, without me having changed anything and therefore I attributed the incident to a Software Update of FS2020.
I also discovered the cause of the problem: by assigning “Enable/Disable Afterburner” to the throttle axis to have a realistic response and command the insertion of the AB by pushing the slider all the way down, this happens in the Starfighter
at least with the my PC.
As you know, this assignment is mandatory to use decently, for example, the Asobo F-18E.
By removing the assignment and therefore leaving it empty, everything works normally and the throttle has no “empty” power.
Now, I would be curious to know if the same thing happens to others and he manages to replicate it on his system too.

I‘m really interested in this rocket, but what makes me wondering were the let‘s say „mixed“ ratings in the MSFS Store on Xbox. Are this mostly pre update ratings ?

this topic is very interesting, too bad that since I have to translate it with Google Translate the content becomes slightly confusing
I would like to ask you, can you help me understand better, for example where I can find “Enable/Disable Afteburner”? Thank you

P.S. I have the Thrustmaster T .16000 M FCS Hotas

Sorry, I did a literal translation from italian
the correct assignment is: Instrument and System> Engine Instruments>Toggle Afterburner.

ok I found the Path I entered the Throttle Axis the problem is that both Throttle Axis remain activated
if I exclude the main Throttle Axis and leave only the one you indicated active the Axis remains blocked
 am I doing something wrong?

how should I configure the Enable / Disable Afterburner option is very important not to make mistakes
Thank you

Control options.

Both assignments can be active. “Toogle Afterburner” will only work with aircraft that have the “Afterburner Detent” feature such as IFE/HB’s Tomcat or Asobo’s default F-18E. Specifically, the SSW Starfighter operates without the “Toogle Afterburner” assignment, as the afterburner kicks in by pushing the throttle all the way down. My problem concerns the fact that until a few months ago on the 104 everything worked well with both assignments active, while now this fact causes a malfunction of the throttle. I hope I’ve been sufficiently clear

 all very clear
Thank you

I noticed that if you carry out the Check carefully in step no. 5
If inertial navigator is not pre-aligned:
to. X-Y -Check.
b. External power -ON.
c. Inertial navigator -STBY.
when you move the switch to Align the green light no longer comes on
does this happen to any of you?
if, however, this operation is carried out with the engine running everything works
but it does not comply with the Ceck
Thank you

I have had the green inertial navigation light not come back on during prep for flight. I usually found I had a problem if I went past the nav position or played with the switch to quickly. I simply reloaded the aircraft and performed the INU alignment again. Hope I haven’t misunderstood.
I was wondering if the Sim Skunkworks team could look into the XBOX version of the TF-104G. I posted about a month ago that the livery 12651(Canadian) was missing the headrests on the seat for this livery. I think we will need an update to correct this on XBOX.
Hoping to get my favorite default livery working in XBOX.
Thanks for trying to help with so many inquiries.
