Device Input Curve Override

I should start by saying that I’m in Sim Update 2 Beta Flighting Build 1.4.12.0, but I don’t know that this is a problem related to the beta, so I’m putting the post in User Interface and Activities.

Many a time, in order to adjust an analog control axis, I’ve clicked the little settings cog and in the following menu clicked ‘Tweak Action Curve’ to, well, tweak the action curve.

But today when I tried that it wouldn’t work. Eventually I noticed that the button was greyed out, and an embarrassing amount of time later I noticed another button above it, ‘Device Input Curve Override’ which was set to OFF.

I switched it to ON and that gave me access to ‘Tweak Action Curve’ again.

The thing is, I’ve tweaked many an action curve and don’t recall having to do that before.

I can think of three explanations for this.

  1. Stupidity: I was doing it previously but my recollection of doing so has fallen through the colander of my memory.

  2. ‘Device Input Curve Override’ is in fact a recent addition to Controls.

  3. ‘Device Input Curve Override’ has always existed but went unnoticed because it was set to ON by default; but that has recently changed to OFF, which is why I’m obliged to pay it attention for the first time.

Stupidity is obviously the front-runner, but if anyone can offer me an alternative explanation I’d appreciate it.
