Differential Braking

Does differential braking work for anyone on the C-172. Seems it just stops straight ahead with either left are right toe brakes.

Yes it does.

If you have actual rudder pedals, just make sure that you have your left toe brake assigned to LEFT BRAKE AXIS and the right one to RIGHT BRAKE AXIS

I actually do and have remapped the toe brakes several times and it still stops straight ahead reguardless of which toe brake I use

It works, but not quite as expected (same for all GA planes, really). Differential braking only seems to work at very low taxi speeds and can cause the plane to stop. Easing off the brake while throttling back up, then re-applying the brake, can make most planes pivot in place. So not perfect, but work-around-able.

Do you maybe have one of the rudders set to the ‘BRAKES’ option? This will apply full brakes and might be overriding your axis assignments.

As above make sure you don’t have another input mapped to brakes. It is possible to do that in this sim.

Thks guys that was it somehow another brake function got mapped. Works fine now.
