Difficulty to find the parking say by ATC

Difficulty to find the parking say by ATC. I have to use Navigraph. And also ATC, most times, don´t say a concrete door.

The obvious way is to turn on your taxi ribbon, though it’s by no means ideal - see Taxi Ribbon mod

The ATC is not good at the moment, and specifying the parking location would be one improvement. Much discussion here: What is wrong with ATC Specifically

They can’t, no taxiway data. Which is odd because they have it for FSX and would it change so much as for that data to be useless ? So the ATC cannot say “Taxi and hold short of Runway two fife via Alpha Two and Charlie” because the program has literally no idea where they are. I believe some of the hand designed runways have the markings, but that’s not the same as the program knowing where they are.

Whereas it can draw the taxiways because it has a vector diagram of them, so it can work out a path. The sane thing to do, IMO, would be to do something like LR did with taxiways, whereby users can add them and submit it. It would probably get done in a few days, there aren’t that many airports with complex layouts.

They do have taxiway data and signs, and they do state it in the ATC:

The signs are hard to see, though, especially moving past them at speed - LR (X-Plane) had the same problem, but a user did an add-on to make them clearer.

Also, many signs are missing when you expect to see them, many airports have none, and those that do exist are not necessarily accurate.

Signs are way too small, and displayed on only one side, so you end up looking over your shoulder to read them. They also don’t match what is in Navigraph charts, unless it’s one of the handmade, or tweaked ones.

The signs themselves (or the size of the letters on them) are certainly too small and the design (the square border) makes them indistinct. And, as you point out, they are often in the wrong place/pointing the wrong way, or even missing.

For most of us (i.e. the arm-chair pilots), I don’t think it matters if they’re accurate unless you need to correlate with other charts, Navigraph etc. As long as I could see the signs clearly as I approach a junction, and I had an accurate taxi route (and numbered gates for arrival), I would try to do without the taxi ribbon (and that horrible parking box).

Yes, I will like that ATC said an accurate taxi route that agree with Navigraph chart of thre airport (and say concrete number gate for arrival), without the taxi ribbon (and that horrible parking box).

You’re right. I think the issue is they don’t match the actual ones. This isn’t a problem if you are flying offline or in an MSFS group, but it’s not much use for VATSIM

Use LittleNavMap

But in LNM I have not see the taxi routes with its letters.

Yes, now I see them on LNM. But the taxi route said in ATC will agree with LNM; because in the case of Navigraph, no.

Not sure if I understand you here correctly.
If you use LNM with the data imported from MSFS, LNM will show the taxiway and parking/gate letters/numbers just like the MSFS ATC has them.
So using LNM should enable you to follow the taxiways that you are given by ATC.

Navigraph will show different taxiway letters in some cases since the data in MSFS is often wrong. So currently there is no way to “sync” the taxiway data (Navigraph and MSFS) except of using custom airport scenery which usually has fixed taxiway markings.
I usually zoom in on LNM or don’t use ingame ATC at all.

When flying on VATSIM your only issue will be that the taxiway signs in the sim will be wrong. But most taxiways are present, it’s just that the name is wrong. But you can follow the instruction of VATSIM controllers using Navigraph charts pretty well.

You have understand correctly; and your answer is very clear. Thank you.
