Anyway to disable the ATC in Career mode for you can use things like BATC and SayIntentions? seems like its scripted into the misions, and its kinda annoying.
Totally agree. Coming from vatsim, default ATC seems pretty unusable. It totally wrecks IFR missions. It seems like it really hasn’t evolved at all from the FSX days. If they can’t do better they need an option to disable it completely.
Please create option to disable ATC in career mode so we can use our own ATC like BeyondATC, especially for IFR flights.
Was hoping to use VATSIM but keep getting forced into the in-game ATC, which is horrible for IFR flight plans.
I second that, Microsoft has been partnering with 3rd party devs for so many things, it’s time to partner with BATC and SayIntentions for ATC and have that integrated with career mode. Perhaps Microsoft can open up an API to control the internal ATC state and third party ATC providers could call that API to sync their state with msfs.
But until that happens, please provide an option to disable in game ATC in career mode.
Having the option to disable ATC as well as being able to adjust the flight plan would improve career drastically. Totally agree.
I wouldn’t mind having a good and usable default ATC in the sim that worked but that’s not the case right now.
This X1000 everyone upvote this to infinity
I would love this.
It’s sad that we can map the whole world down to a few cm but can’t get decent default atc.
My first flight sim was Flight Unlimited II from like 1998 and that had way more immersive and complete atc than anything that’s come since. If you did a mayday call they would give you directions to the nearest airport, if you went off the taxiway it would quip something like “you trimming the grass down there” it would call you on guard if you flew into bravo airspace without contacting first. I’m sure it even did traffic sequencing
Granted they only had to do this for California as that’s as far as the sim went but still, it was 1998
It is 100% doable, all the 3rd party career add ons let you use atc of your choosing, should be the case here. It will require modification to scoring system, but better now at the beginning, than two years down the road
Came to also say that I would love to use BATC with career mode as well.
I came to disagree with disabling ATC, but I understand what you mean now.
I also would prefer a more realistic ATC environment. I only hope they are partnering to create on, AI based I’d assume.
Don’t like the simplified system they have now, but I only came to say make it better.
Not sure how they could score your “procedures” with ATC if it was disabled but I definately agree with the sentiment here.
if the system was open to mods and 3rd party for changes… that would be ideal.
This is what a Say Intentions developer responded when I asked if they would be willing too hook up into an API provided by MSFS to update the internal MSFS ATC state:
“We would make this Priority #1 if it ever happened! We’re the only ATC network poised to take advantage of that situation, since we support VFR and untowered ops.
And we’ll definitely take advantage of that.”
ATC and flight planning in career mode are broken; I would prefer an option for using or not using in-game ATC for career mode. Furthermore, ATC has not refreshed our built EFP plans. Usually, taking off with significant tailwinds.
I find myself canceling IFR immediately or ignoring it from the beginning and flying with my SI or BATC, doing so at a high cost of reputation (which doesn’t seem to matter outside bonus payment).
Asobo, please give us an option to disable the in-game ATC for career mode so we can use this amazing tool online with virtual ATC! I fly virtual charter operations and the idea of mimicking the FS world with my virtual charter ops is incredibly appealing.
Perhaps implementing this in conjunction with opening career mode to marketplace aircraft would be a good approach.
This is really why I haven’t been using career mode. I use SayIntentions. Now, I have noticed some interesting things like an airliner going missed approach when I use SayIntentions to cross a runway. In fact, I’ve seen that several times. The ATC in MSFS 2024 doesn’t know what I’m doing, but it seems to acknowledge that. It would be great if SayIntentions could handle the traffic injection – they’re working on it. Phase 1 is supposed to be out this month.
I voted on this one, we really need this to be optional in order to use BATC or VATSIM. I don’t care about getting dinged but it’s the jumping through hoops right after takeoff that I am not particularly fond of.
No improvement on the default ATC compared to 2024. Let me use Sayintensions.AI as default!
I wouldn’t mind default ATC if it wasn’t this bad. But since it is, I would rather have an option to turn it off so I don’t need to keep cancelling IFR.
Default ATC is bad.
But for the purposes of Career mode system can’t evaluate your perfomance with the radios if they would be from a 3rd party.
Opening API for 3rd parties to hook up with default system would be much more elegant way of achieving this.
Asobo have so many devs, and yet, few folks at BATC or SI working for few years on their projects was able to achieve SO MUCH MORE then default system with devs on full time payroll. That is strange to me.
