For me I’m loosing the c17 so a 2024 premium deluxe plane no liveries no extras on it just base game install
Ah that breaks that theory then. Weird.
Yea my first one I lost was an atr with a livery so assumed livery was issue then I lost the c17 and that’s when I started stratching going what’s going on

Sorry for you, buddy. I’ve tried this several times and with several planes, and it’s always worked for me… but the truth is that for everyone this sim, for now, is a giant puzzle. KSUN a few minutes ago…
After downloading version 1.4.12.0 , the simworks Kodiak-100 is no longer shown on the list of available aircraft. Instead there is an empty tile where the Daher Kodiak used to be placed (see screenshot).
Prior to this beta-version, I had no issues and was able to select and fly the aircraft.
I have removed the aircraft from my community folder, and reinstalled it, but it did not solve the issue, not does any restarting of MSFS2024
Also with version 1.4.13.0 the issue persists.

This is a such a weird issue because it is so intermittent. I use the Fenix all the time, with the Fenix provided liveries, and usually fly the same livery. Every few days it just disappears. Did not change the plane, the livery, etc. Just gone. I can get it back by disabling/enabling in the library but wonder what causes it to happen.
Regarding third-party add-on aircraft.
When I add an add-on livery to that aircraft, the aircraft sometimes doesn’t appear on the " Change aircraft screen".
However,
it is listed in the Aircraft Selector in developer mode, so it is possible to select it from there.
Also, there is no problem with the file size of the layout.json on the livery side.
It displays normally in SU1 and MSFS2020, but the problem is occurring in SU2.
And I could no longer delete the text on the aircraft search form.
I tried really hard to find the post I made very early on when 2024 released, but I can’t.
Anyhow, the post illustrated how when I enabled/disabled various aircraft that came with the Aviator Edition the keyframe of the C-17 Globemaster would change from the grey livery to the fictional Boeing red/white/blue livery. I could simply enable and disable various aircraft and it would change that keyframe again. This was solely related to aircraft that came with the sim and not related to adding 3rd party aircraft/liveries.
I get the sense this disappearing aircraft thing is a related issue.
There is something totally whack here with how the sim sorts aircraft. It is still very much an issue, which shows when adding liveries to the Community folder or just enabling aircraft in the library.
I can click an aircraft, and then configure and it will list the name of the aircraft and its livery/reg number incorrectly for the selected livery. It’s very messy.
It really is. A bit better now that they remember the plane/livery combination you previously selected but the way it handles variants (CFM, IAE, etc.) and matches liveries is definitely off. I’m hoping this is an issue Fenix/PDMG, etc. can fix/adjust for in the metadata along with their 2024 releases or we may well be waiting for SU3.

From my own research this is an issue with backwards compatibility between 2020 addons in 2024 and their associated third party liveries.
I cannot tell what line is messing things up but you could have a third party livery from a completely different aircraft and it will make a separate third party aircraft not show!
If you use Addon Linker and DISABLE all 3rd party liveries, your aircraft should show again.
I thought this as well, but the reports above of the default C-17 with no additional liveries installed also disappearing breaks that trend/theory.
I wonder if they are missing a livery… like maybe they do have one installed?
Or honestly it could even be 1st party livery done in the 2020 method interfering.

There is validity to this.
Example:
The Volocity disappeared for me. It has two Aviator’s liveries. Each are noted as 2020 on their keyframe. I disabled both and the Volocity reappeared in the aircraft selection.

The only aircraft that does that to me is the Junkers Ju-52 with zero third party liveries. I could be that one of the stock liveries of the Ju-52 is borked, but then it should disappear for others as well. Not sure if that’s the case. Perhaps some owners of the Ju-52 can chime in.
I have the two FBW Aircraft installed without any additional livery, and they are also disappearing.
