When I fly on VATSIM in the Cessna 152 (love using that thing with the mod) I am constantly looking for traffic using TrackIR. Flying under VFR it’s my responsibility to keep myself clear of other traffic which involves looking around all the time.
Hang in there dude, they will fix this. Asobo have made many goofs so far and they keep working on fixing them. This engine rebuild they did was significant and hasn’t been done properly since around 2010. This lays the foundations for DX12 DLSS and other cool features.
We’re in the mud now but I really do believe that long term, PC users will really benefit from this update.
Hard to see it through all the frustration and bugs right now but they will make this not just right but better.
They downgraded visual since the beginning what you expect it’s getting worse; sim now only uses like 6gb ram lol
For those that can get into the game and are having bad scenery, have you looked at settings to see if terrain download options haven done a sneaky and turned off after the update? That happened to me once and the sim looked garbage.
They did work on the sims engine and how it uses the hardware, it will definitely need fine tuning by the state of things lol
Isn’t it funny how popular streamers PC’s aren’t affected by any of these issues from SU5…smooth gameplay no stuttering and no CTD’s…hmmmm wonder why that is…
The extremely yellowish tone and blurry graphic really make me feel disgusted!!!
It’s not turned off on my end. Fresh install of my OS last night running MSFS on full blast aside from resolution scale at 100 and it looks much worse. Yes, I have Bing data and photogrammetry enabled. It’s so hard to make out some VRPs now. The scenery doesn’t really get good until you’re almost right on top of off. What good does it do when a controller calls out a VRP for me to report over and I can’t even see it at all to start flying towards. I have to start playing guessing games even with a TAC out.
Mine looks much nicer. I’ve owned since release and have seen some downgrades but they fixed them since.
The clouds still are more grainy than they were but for me scenery and performance is better. Sorry to hear that you had to do a full OS reinstall that sucks man. I hope they fix this soon so you can get back to it quickly.
Now if I could just get my controls to work I might be able to enjoy the sim again
Mind showing me a screenshot at like 6,500 over the Queen Mary near KLGB and looking to the northwest?
Lets face it folks, the important customers to Asobo and MS are not flight simmers, they are X Box owners. That is their cash cow. If it works on Xbox, that is all that counts.
I can’t fly anywhere my controls disconnect
So I have shelved the sim until a patch arrives.
I believe we’re 1 year into a 10 year development cycle so I’m confident there’s a better future for PC users over the horizon.
Do you really think so?
Do you really hope, Asobo will bring back all those visuals??
I don’t believe that.
They have once before, when VR was released everything took a dive. They fixed it though. They will again in my opinion, yes.
If they do this, the Xbox owners will complain
The xbox owners will likely keep what we all have now. Future updates for PC users will see more options unlock for better graphics and performance. They said this in one of their streams. They also said this current weather engine is just the tip of the iceberg and a far superior one is coming in 2022, along with a new aerodynamic engine.
I really do think that long term PC users will get the goodies we want and more.
The issue is we shouldn’t have had details and image fidelity taken away and then returned. It should always be improving. At least through optional graphical choices in the menus.
Nobody is going to be playing this game on Xbox after a few months. The majority right now are playing it for free on Xbox Game Pass and once the novelty of flying past their house wears off they’ll get bored and move on. Anyone serious about flight simulation is going to choose a PC over console.
I don’t understand the complaints here at all. After reading this, I spent a good chunk of time looking through old screenshots from before Update 5 and took some just now in various scenarios to compare - no difference in fidelity whatsoever, with an incredible performance bump to boot. I am running an i9 with a 2080. Performance prior to the update gave my system a measurable amount of pain to run on higher settings. Now, I have everything maxed with incredible performance.
This sim update has given me a renewed love for the game and I couldn’t ask for anything more (other than a few bug fixes here and there).
I tried to replicate what you are saying with rapid camera movement both in and out of cockpit, no issues whatsoever with quality. I want to give thanks to the team for an incredible job with this update - THANK YOU.
