Self proclaimed GA experts…haha think they’re fed up with some of the “experts” on this forum.
Beta testing is a matter of quality, not quantity. I test for a big developer in the sim community and we‘re just a handful but it works well. We‘re so few that we know each other by name and favorite drinks. But when we talk about something that bothers us beside obvious coding bugs it‘s a serious discussion with a outcome devs can work with eventually. 1000 people can‘t do that. Just take 100 from this forum and look how it goes. Arguments and insults after 5 posts at the latest and nothing for devs to work with.
500 testers for 2 weeks doesn‘t mean that the update will be perfect, it means it shall run on most systems without causing as big trouble as with some of the latest updates. The more fundamental problems that have been known for months won‘t be fixed during these 2 weeks regardless how often they are going to be mentioned during this beta.
It would make little sense to ask for help testing an Update before it is close to being frozen, so if you want a longer testing period, you have two choices:
- Fewer fixes and new features in SU4
- A later release date
Neither would cause widespread applause in the community.
In the end, it’s always a balancing act how much time you want to spend testing.
The “no Steam” decision is technically founded, and there’d be little to gain from allowing us to participate as well.
Asobo/MS should open another screen with “solved bugs and wishes” to clean up the mais screen of bugs and wishes…this would “rise” the other request
I’m not aware of any significant decision to not push forward, it may have been a change in wording, but I’ll be double-checking with the team here to confirm, thanks!
That is what was stated by the devs, that it was already fixed, however feel free to visit the “cloud textures pixelated and grainy” forum thread to see many users with no improvement. We actually had to push to get this forum opened up again because of the assertion the problem was solved but as you’ll see, it is still prevalent. For some apparently the “fix” worked, but for many others with fairly high-end systems we have seen no improvement, and a substantial degradation since release. Make sure to view all images in full res.

And to clarify, my issue is less to do with the cloud quality itself, it is the decision of the Devs to ignore those who continue to have the issue and insist that they actually fixed the problem. From a customers perspective that is very frustrating.
Hey @Jummivana I thought the beta signup was at 8am today in Xbox Insider Hub? I do not see it.
I’m also not finding the beta in the Previews section of the Xbox Insider Hub.
Same. Not there.
Same, no sign of it here
Has anyone in the xbox-insider hub already unlocked sign for the beta?
And I REALLY need the loo but can’t leave my PC until I’ve applied for the beta!!

It’s 11 minutes past the hour. Glad I’ve been waiting for an hour on this.
@Jummivana @MSFSCommunityTeam any update?
World Update 4 sign-ups opened right on time so it’s weird that this is being delayed. Anyway, all the community managers are online right now so they’re probably working on it as we speak. Good luck getting in!
Are we just supposed to wait for it to pop up in the insider app or do we sign up online somewhere else?
Who knows. This is a bit annoying.
You have to wait until it shows on the Xbox Insider Hub (don’t know if you have to keep refreshing or whether it will just appear out of nowhere), and then click on it to sign up before all 300 spots are gone.
20 minutes passed - nothing…
