Discussion: Patch 1.8.3.0 Update

Ersin84 Today at 00:10

Hi Microsoft! After your last update i must unfortunately say. The issue with the huge fps drop in the cockpit while turning around inside the cockpit is still current. The big airplanes has this issue. After the patch i tried to restart my computer but still the fps drop is there. Its droping all the way a turning around not only smal part in the cockpit.
I have tried graphics setting low, med and high i have same issue with all the alternatives.

This is my computer:
Screen: 144hz G-Sync Asus 27 inch screen.
CPU: Intel core i 9 10900kk
GPU: RTX Gigabyte 2080 TI 12GB
RAM: 32 gb Dual Chanel 2933mhz
Storage: Samsung Ssd 970 pro 1 TB
Cooling: Kraken Z73
Internet connection speed: Upload: 50mbts download 650mbts

You can see my computer is a really high performance computer and also my internet. I have sett window 10 to high performance mode and update gpu and everything bios all you can imagine.

I hope everyone who has found this patch has wrecked their sim has raised hell on zendesk. I’ve submitted a massive bug report/complaint via that. I was enjoying this sim up to this moment - now I’m getting engine failure the second TOGA mode is activated on the runway and Engine 1 will not restart at all.

F**** ridiculous. I’m furious.

They have killed the A320 in this update i cant even power it up now from cold what so ever Not happy :frowning:

If it’s similar to the 100% GPU on the main menu, then do as another forum user suggested to me. Limit your frame rate to 60fps via, in my case, the Nvidia control panel outside the sim, and it stops the GPU from running away at silly frame rates. Mine now sits at around 45-50% GPU usage on the main menu, and doesn’t hammer the fans any more. I’d never need more than 60fps anyway, so although it would be nice if Asobo could fix this, as I’ve never seen this behaviour in any other title I have, its an effective workaround.

After update all windows custom services and company rules are back again engaged in Windows.
All my custom settings in Win10 are gone.
Attention update !

So whats peoples thoughts do we need to wait until October for a fix for the update or will they roll us back?

If ATC speaking FPS drop to 10 FPS. Baddest update ever.

you need a 3090 and you will be ok

For me the performance is better

Départure airport Charles de Gaule, Paris : game crash
Departure airport : Le bourget, Paris : game crash
Departure airport KLAX : game crash
Marseille airport, France : ok

Writing this from Paris,France.

Is it a ms servers problem ?
This makes the game unplayable to me.
Is anyone else experiencing airports problems ?

I would rather not have a roll back. Despite the niggles, this patch is an improvement for me, overall.

is due to the a320 mod,you need to wait for the update of the mod.

If true, then users here had better get used to an effective testing methodology:

Remove all mods, and fly Asobo only code, and if stable, only then introduce mods.

After about 3 hours of flying last night, and having no crashes, although I didn’t touch the AP , I strongly suspect users have modded sims, perhaps more pertinently modded aircraft, with those mods based on old files.

Seems to be a lot of negative experiences so far in the patch but want to add my own experience; just as a counter.

I think the key here is patience.

~ Download took a while and one re-boot of the sim to get all the files
~ Once downloaded I had issues with the G1000 in the bonanza which was linked to the G1000 improvement mod; which they’ve fixed. Thanks @kaosfere4829 for such a quick fix!
~ I also closed/opened the sim a few times to let it catch up with itself
~ Generally I have seen a slight increase of around 5fps; not much, but when I only average 20 with medium settings, 5 is a lot!
~ Loading times seem quicker
~ I’ve yet to do any long flights but all looks good so far

I wonder if some of the people are experiencing issues due to heavy modding and/or heavy changes to sim or windows files to get better performance? My install is pretty stock except for the G1000 mod, G36 improvement project, and a few scenery items. I’ve certainly seen some snake oil tips and tricks on various forums.

P.S Thank you Asobo

They need to roll back ASAP

Case in point. I think we all need to accept the reality of this situation we are in.

A modder takes the default files, copies them out, and creates a mod based on those files. Then Asobo release a patch that modifies those default files, and the mod now behaves strangely.

You can either:

  1. Remove the mod, and wait for the author to rejig it to work with the new patch.
  2. Continue to use the mod, and fly an unstable sim.

I’m willing to bet that those wanting a rollback are flying modded airliners.

Are you even testing your ■■■■ before you release it?
Honestly that patch is a ■■■■■■■ joke!
Rollback to the old version or hotfix it quickly.
Its absolutely unacceptable that all airliners are unflyable now!

you can configure the .cfg file, search this thread, is explained how…
