what i do is set the alt auto to whatever alt i want then switch to VS and adjust the bug up or down and turn on VS and it should climb to or descend to the alt u set earlier in ALT bug, IF you just press AP then ALT all it does is hold your current alt , You must use VS to climb or desend to a different alt… IT works for me in the TBM
Yea I can’t help there. I just stay away from the tubes with the sorry state that they are in. Even if most things were functioning they fly like the have rocket engines attached to them thats an immediate turnoff in itself. Hopefully they will fix sooner rather than later.
yeahhh that’s true, but in a way a like the rocket engines, so i can accept that muahahahah
but flying with one engine no ty :\
I understand that. But when i try to adjust vs most of the time it does nothing. I’ll try again when i am brave enough to use this frustrating sim again.
That bug was there before the patch.
OMG – I really miss the 2D cockpit.
Ironically, I found it far more realistic as a panel that was there to allow you to correctly fly the plane, than the 3d ones.
All this Zooming and mouse action to see what you need … on the 2D panel it was all there and crystal clear
Ahhhhhhh Memories …
needs fixing, fed up now, we were all hyped when it came out. im back on x plane now, cant deal with the msfs stress
, enjoying my florida orbx, my JF piper arrow and my xplane skylane!! that feels good!! x ambience weather and environment proggy out next week!!!
The FCU in my Boeing787-10 turns off after a few min in game. Help?!
I totally agree! It seems we have traded visual realism to actual flying realism. There were some really great 2D panels that worked very well and had everything right there easily accessed. I miss that too.
Yes. Same for me. The whole 787 is Fubar at the moment. It´s a pity
Yes-- starting to look like the next version of MS Flight, as opposed to the next version of FSX.
If that is what the consumer is really looking for, they got it … otherwise, thankfully there are alternatives .
Cellphone, Internet, Facebook – not so many these days have the motivation to invest so much time and effort in realistically learning how do fly.
Good for those who do !@!! but they unfortunately seem to be a dying breed.
Just make sure VS is on and ALT light is off and you have previously entered a desired altitude and AP is on. It works .
So here I am 2 days later with an unplayable game. The game decided I needed to get the entire 110Gib installation and I am now stuck on the dreaded fs-base-0.1.61.fspackage.004 loop where the installer times out and just keeps restarting this file. I can’t believe how bad this installer is.
Well, took 3 days to update, and 90% downloaded in few hours using a VPN… But now, the game is crashing about 4 of every 5 flights.
Responding to ATC takes between 5 to 15 seconds, autopilot on GA aircraft cannot keep altitude and still no frequencies on the map. Overall this patch is breaking FS
I am going to switch game and wait a month
I don’t get why people still try to use features and functions that are documented known to be broken. If you’re lucky enough to get it running, why not stick to what works? There is still plenty of fun to be had until the issues are (hopefully!) fixed.
Haven’t used the sim for about the last 5 days, new patch installs and every single time the game crashed to the desktop when climbing out on any runway I’ve tried. Absolutely terrible patch, the game was stable until this patch. Now we need to try workarounds, unacceptable.
Before patch the 787 was able to be flown with 30 fps on my i9-9900K with EVGA2080 super at 30fps on Ultra. Now I get either 10fps or a CTD.
747 AP was fine for me pre patch but now it nose dives even after turning AP and full pull back and trim nose up because of VNAV.
Last time my system full system crashed from the main menu and Im conitnually having 7.8GB of VRAM devoted to this game whereas before it was only 4.2GB. Im running 1080p. How the hell does this happen? This patch only made it worse for me on a high end device.
Welcome to flight simulators - time to get a new updated computer.
@Roadspider, yes, the TBM autopilot is working well for me. For my last flight, I loaded up an IFR flight plan from KHOU to KDVT using departure airport SID and arrival airport STAR - I’m in the Navigraph Beta program and it’s been nice having much more navigational data in the sim.
Before departure I dial in an initial altitude. Usually I’ll center the HDG bug on the runway but because of the 10-degree increment heading bug, I typically hand-fly an intercept to my course. Once on course, I pitch for the climb speed I want - Typically 140kts then select NAV and FLC. The TBM will pitch as required to maintain the set speed. Aircraft will level off at final altitude as expected.
For descent, I dial in the lower altitude then use VS and descend at 1,500’ FPM, typically and manage speed with the throttle. Once captured at the lower altitude, I’ll either use HDG or disengage the AP and hand-fly. The only big issue is once I disengage the AP, I cannot reactivate it.
