I have the same issue. I couldn’t install the patch so I decided to uninstall the game and try a fresh installation. Now I’m stuck on this unexcusable loop and I can’t download the game! This is ridiculous. Can anyone help?

It seems limiting the bandwidth is working, at least for now. I’ve got a few downloads i’ve had paused for days that i forgot - and it seems having other things taking up bandwidth has allowed FS to download properly, albeit slowly.
Give it a try, perhaps running a few youtube videos at 1080p and see if that works for you.
Some say downloading NetLimiter to limit the bandwidth strictly for FS helps but - i try not installing apps that will only exist temporarily on my rig. Although at this point, i may as well… who knows if this will be an issue on another update. smh
I tried that solution. I installed NetLimiter and set various limits to flightsimulator.exe 3MB/s, 1MB/s, 512KB/s nothing works.
Dang that sucks.
To be honest, this is quite literally the first time i’ve ever experienced such an issue with a games launch and preceding updates.
Like this is a monumental failure

I am very happy that the devs fixed the blurry tail wheel thingie on the Savage Cub which surely was a major annoyance for every pilot. And I am glad that I can still enjoy the devs´ humour of labelling and programming the ignition keys as master battery switches.
This patch also took away the boring sensitivity control of my Thrustmaster Warthog HOTAS. No more endless fiddling with “dead zones” and “sensitivities” to get e.g. the wheel brakes working a bit more efficient than a barefoot heel on a wet marble floor. (Cap 10 and DR400).
I like what they did with ATC though. There is still a lot of room for improvement, but it is quite nice now.
One last remark - the main purpose of a landing light is not to illuminate the nose gear or an area underneath the aircraft. It should point at the touchdown zone.
A smartphone health app predicted that I would live happily to the age of 89 which is still a long way to go, so I am confident that at this pace I have a realistic chance to see MSFS2020 fixed.

yeah great to bad you screwed us all alot of cant do anything now this patch is out. Engine shut off and wont restart, game crashes all the time intermittently, buttons no longer work in some planes
auto pilot in airbus still is junk . no sensitivity setting anymore which has created a whole other nightmare. Sorry guys you really blew it on this patch and now many of us have to shelf it till you guys fix issues… before this last patch it was enjoyable . now cant even get it going
101GB for me… FFS… you have to be joking. That’s the size of the original installer…? Anyone else had this issue?

Did you choose the correct folder where your MSFS content is?
no crash since deleted cache, switching ATC Azure to Windows Offline + Update GPU Driver.

@Jakenben123 - i think you’re correct. stupid game doesn’t even know where its installed. now trying to select the correct folder and am getting “you dont have permission” message!!! this program is awful. think i’m heading toward an un-install and forget about it.

for this same reason i posted a reply on this subject , i want to re-iterate this very important matter Asobo did a great mistake in the last patch regarding the rendering features and should return back to its’ rendering settings in the previous patch , i repeat that is a must , i myself will be waiting for the next patch , myself being an alpha tester i am telling Asobo here that before the release the rendering during the alpha/beta testing was better , make no mistake in this important item .

My sim CTD most of the times right after I press the Ready to fly button. Is there any trick to mitigate that? Like disabling something? Weather maybe? I’m willing to try anything. Thanks in advance.
first thing to check is your graphic card settings , if you are overclocking it return to normal settings and try to fly .hope this could be your problem .
This is also working for me, about half-way through the full install again, and have not had the restarting file issue. It is frustrating that I have to download at such a slow speed, but slow is better than never.
I agree 100000000000000000 times! I have noticed not only rendering issues appear but also strange black like joint parts between textures appear, I believe the guys at Asobo just off track bit on this one, and they need get this fixed and add to SIM DX12 and take advantage of performance, I have seen games were you have DX11 you get around 140FPS, once selected DX12 I get amazing 187FPS up to 200FPS, you can also see that difference with RTX3080 test!, also I said some week a goo that they must improve performance by good margin to keep people coming to FS2020 as I start to see more and more comments of people quite FS2020 and starting to return to other SIMS.

Oh almost forgot my system is quite capable i run FS2020 on ultra settings, I got I9 9900k @ 5.3GHz all cores, 64GB ram DDR4 30000, and RTX 2080 Super Trio X, M.2 SSD sams evo 500GB plus NVME WD black 500GB m.2, along with SSD 256GB from gigabyte, my mobo is Z390 Aorus Master, cooling custom EKWB 240mm push n pull plus 6 evo EKWB fans 2200rpm, my down side is monitor 75hz 1ms 1080p

Yes. Its because the patche uninstalled the game. You are downloading the whole game not the patch. Happened to me 3 times.
