today I’ve noticed after some flights break that some Update is available, here in Forum. After read what troubles can bring this update especially to Beta testers (complete install sometimes needed) I can say really, heh I was started little bit sad what will happen also to me. After read all topics about many users have that problem, I started read also Asobo’s recommendations to pass through this nicely. And I can say only one - I did it without problems, looks like. I was in beta as MS Store version owner and read really many sad reports about that full reinstall required. Then I started giving yourself questions, is this true? Isn’t there really some nice procedure as Asobo recommended? I started read again and again that Asobo’s message and started to be somehow confused, really I didn’t understand steps right after more reads. Then I discovered some interesting, simply before unsubscribe from Beta my sim need install some little update but also message that after unsubscribe another one (my wrong understanding???). Ok, so I did backup and start MSFS as usually, let say I don’t know nothing about some Update, also this news will bring to me start of sim everytime. And then it comes, only few KB update and sim started continue to load as usually. It is working hmmmm… Ok, I’ve closed it and go Hub and cancel beta participation. After that step no other updates and sim is working as 1.21.18.0 like before, as in Beta but is after Beta participation. Looks all ok. What I can recommend to Asobo - pls do that recover/update steps better! I think it’s really hard sometimes do correct steps and of course understand what to do. Thanks Asobo for this Update and looks like correct procedure to pass from Beta to normal version. Yes, now it’s time to test this but as I good understand only AIRAC update was proceeded and no other changes, correct? Have all good time with flying…
Hope we did good tests all as Beta testers to bring this sim further…
Update: eeeehm forget to say one important (hope this isn’t some problematic step in case of after Beta participant), no MS Store update to me, also MSFS start in case of update brings me to Store for that, no in this case, I think correct because of Beta and therefore all I have already installed.
Update 2 and very important: pls read my news some screens next lower, I need reinstall full sim now!!! eeeeehm really strange after some time and run sim more times till this news!

Stuck in a download loop for a few hours. Had to walk away and come back @ the end of the day.
Once downloaded another download loop for in-game content updates. 3 or 4 restarts later, in-game content is finished.
My Hanger now flashes like a freaking disco is going on, so does my world map. I can’t figure out a way to fix it. A complete reset of all my preferences (Which is the update norm now it seems), once those were fixed started a flight.
Sutters are back BIG TIME now, took quite a performance hit, looking with track IR is a HUGE hit to FPS (single-digit drops from upper 40’s I run). Re-set rolling cache was of no help. My graphic settings are exactly the same as pre-update.
Track IR IS fixed now, so I don’t have to run the workaround anymore which is nice.
The weather is no change, I am still seeing clouds @ AGL, temps are WAY WAY OFF, harsh transitions are still present. Nothing here has changed. Back to REX for my weather. Reverse thrust also isn’t working as it used to on the PC-6 or 208. Back to my work-around with SPAD.
In short, lots of drama, nothing fixed, and lost performance. Typical update!

Two flights, PNG and Idaho Backcountry, clouds are still very much glued to the ground still. Zero improvements.
Also seeing the violent wind changes and temp swings exactly as before.

Frank Church Wilderness area, Probably a blend of KMYL, ID86, KSUN, and who knows what else. In the vicinity of ID86, live weather temps were around 20c, real temps were ~-5.
Turning on REX fixed it.
You dont even have to rename it if it’s not in the default location although better safe than sorry I suppose. You must however point to it when the installer asks it’s location or it will set up new ones … If by chance you just clicked it is still possible to avoid the big downloads by pausing (or by closing the sim) and editing UserCfg.opt with the correct path
After downloading, one CTD for not removing CF files (about 7), I restarted game, upon loading it CTD again for no apparent reason. Shut down PC, restarted again. Loaded Game and setup in World Map flight using freeware C-17 (UK Mil Ver) from KMGE to KWRB using IFR Low Level, wanted ILS Rwy 15, got RNAV 15, setup FMS based on my 747 Checklist posted on this forum. All the controls in that plane are based on 747, so most of the stuff works like that. It needs work, but free. ATC again lost azure, what else is new. Additionally, on final 10 feet off ground, and get bandwidth warning for god’s sake. Did not crash, but it was a rough landing for sure. This game has a long, long, long way to go. I can list the problems and my solutions, but no one will listen.
- Put all ATC communications in the game, as physical files/data sets. This takes azure out of the equation., Could turn off online ATC that will be choice.
- Prevent bandwidth warnings if AGL of plane is less than 1000 feet so we don’t mess up the approach and landing.
- That this game is way more unstable is possible. I never get CTD’s as rule, one I caused, and one out of the blue.
- Again, lots of posts, this is broken, that is broken, cannot install, cannot download, etc.
Please put all the updates files in a place we can login to and download at our discression. Have it so there is an installer and all the files including content manager updates. More of this game needs to be on the local machine instead in the cloud, believe lots of problems will go away if that is case.
For me, FSX is a much more stable platform, more enjoyable to use and fly in, because I don’t have problems.
As an aside, when azure down, there is some very weird ATC calls to me and my reply is also weird, Microsoft this and Microsoft that, weird names, mis pronounced words, a gamut of messed up stuff.

that ID86 hasn’t ATIS so in this case hard to compare, but have there snow and 13 deg C, rain now. Here is pict from KMYL what i have now (with my time set):
This was last night, @ work now can’t check. Could of beeen server issues due to loading? idk, will fly more tomorrow. I’ve been seeing a lot of wrong weather for a long time now ( Wind, temp, clouds etc) and simply stopped using live weather because its frequently wrong. EDIT: Also had giant fluffy counds in the runway at KMAN as well, just like we’ve been seeing since SU7. Also still seeing that aorund PNG. That has not improved.
REX is spot on, so I use it 90% of the time.

what i can recommend now is check Main Forum tree where Beta Participation option we had, you can see there what was required to check and what results we had. I think that AGL/AMSL problem of clouds base wwas I can say big priority and was solved due my many checks. Yes, question is weather loading and Server issues but Beta base problems are there to see and check what reports were.
Or just don’t use Live Weather as its consantly broken, and stick with 3rd party which is extreamly consistant and predicitable. 
The update had no issues and I did empty my community folder prior to update. After it was complete I went into my content manager and performed updates there. I closed out the sim and then checked for updates on 3rd party addons (orbx, flightsim.to, etc).
After rebooting my computer, the first launch and initial loading screen took forever to get to the main menu. I then deleted my cache and set up my flight in the FBW A32NX and took off from KLAS to KLAX (my test route) using live weather and live time. Shortly after departure the game crashed to desktop. Being on the dev version of the A32NX turned off the MCDU server for the tablet and started all over again. Shortly after takeoff the sim crashed to desktop again. I went to the default Asobo A320 and tried again and crashed to desktop shortly after take off.
I loaded back up to the main menu and went through all my settings and put my renderscale back to 90 and set my FPS limiter to 30 again. Game has changed them to 100 and 60. I checked through all my other settings and everything looked fine.
I started over with the FBW A32NX without the MCDU server on. I set up the flight for KLAS to KLAX again and the flight went smooth. I had no stutters or hiccups. It being night time, I couldn’t fully see the marine layer on arrival to KLAX but it was there as usual this time of year in real life. I landed, and went to the gate. I setup another flight at the gate back to KLAS and took off back into the marine layer. No hiccups or stutters and successfully landed back home. I did notice the sensitivity on my rudder pedals needed to be adjusted down a bit. That could be due to the dev version of FBW.
I still feel that pre SU7 weather was way better. I also feel that the weather popping in between metars also attributed to the stuttering issues I had before this update. So far no issues when the weather pops in but it is a terrible transition like the FSX days. I felt we were beyond that until SU7 was released.
My PC is a R7 3700X (no OC) with 32Gigs RAM and an RX5700XT with an Asus TUF Gaming x570 motherboard. MSFS is on a secondary m.2 1tb Samsung drive.
After leaving the beta and updating to the current stable build yesterday, I’ve been getting inconsistent temperature readings with current real world METARs, off by more than 5-10 degrees. I’ve also not even been able to pull a METAR in game yet via the weather menu or the G1000 NXi. Something is off.
I was in the beta test. Went to Xbox Insider Hub, left the beta like it said I should. Went to the Xbox App and it said Update Available so I asked it to do the update. While it was doing the update in the Xbox App, it disappeared from the list of games, then a little while later it reappeared. Sure enough the whole sim was gone. Not just a wrong location because the free space was reflected on my SSD and the shortcut to the community folder was invalid. So now it’s redownloading the whole sim again.

shame you didn’ read also my previous post (some lines above) about pass from Beta. i think it can be helpful to you because I see probably problem that many users do for first canceling of Beta what is wrong in my opinion.

Well, my long journey trying to get the update is ending with no more solutions and a lot of frustration.
Passed through each step of the three pages of Zendesk’s Download and Installation issues - Advanced Troubleshooting pages.
The process ended up by deleting without notice the files on the C drive in User - App Data.
MS Store now ask a full reinstall of the game by the Xbox App, not the Store as before.
I needed to delete manually MSFS to create space for a full download.
XBox App gives an error each time I retry to download (I’ve done the reset, log off, reboot, etc many times). Next step seams to take the phone to call MS!!!
Any idea before I do this?
Also getting this on the MB339. Anyone else?
I finding an old bug is back… If the sim loses focus - perhaps I click on LittleNavMap - then often the hardware controls are no longer connected to the sim until I get the focus back onto the sim - so no throttle/steering etc while no focused.

I have standard - 3 updates.
I remember one was for the Ju-52 (the biggest one) can’t remember the other two. Ju-52 was a Marketplace add-on IIRC so I guess the others were, too.
