Okay, I have no clue why you’d expect the cloud rendering to change - it was neither announced nor is this a simulation update - but just for you I am posting another first impression screenshot here. Without clouds (they were not the focus of my previous screenshot anyway either):
And there is an amazing improvement in satellite texture quality (resolution): the Rhône river in the Wallis (French: Valais) was previously just a “blue blurp”, and now one can clearly see it meandering through the Wallis. Also, the vineyards are now clearly recognisable.
So I have tried signing out of MS store app and signing back in, same for XBOX companion app and still cannot get MS store app to show that there is an update available…
Great video. Did you by chance record any of the FPS or memory amounts for the settings to see the impacts on overall performance? It’s a trade off for most users so it would be helpful to know your system specs and the performance data as you raised the setting. Thanks for posting the video so quickly.
Well, I did not read the release notes entirely. I already renamed the community folder manually again, going to reboot and start flying with an empty comm-folder.
Seems to me a nice feature. Hope it will help some folks
yea it’s a WU but SU:5 botched up so badly that the dev team considered this WU:6 a partial rehabilitation of the sim as well. and I thought it was part of the fixed to come with a WU:6 just like a cache slider… for instance.
My main topic on it got closed - I also posted it in the night time lighting thread under Bugs as well but there’s a pretty horrible problem with night time lighting. It’s similar to the floating lights issue but even worse
It’s like a weird layer and there’s a shadowed mirror of the plane as well,
This seems to be present in every city and all areas at night.
