The Store doesn’t show me an update no mather if I manually check for updates. When I launch the game I get the redirected to the store as there is a mandatory update available… Updating MSFS is the most frustrating hobby I currently have…
I finally got MS store to show there being an update available by installing the XBOX App. Apparently having the XBOX Companion app is not gonna work, I think it is also being phased out. So, if you can’t get the MS store to show that there is an update available, install the XBOX App from MS App Store!
I’ll post a more detailed video later today, probably replacing this one. I’ll put a system resource overlay in the video as well. My basic specs are i7-10700k, 2080Ti, and 16GB of RAM.
Sim says I have a mandatory update in the store. I go to store and nothing…
CTD at first start, A32NX from HAM, about 1000 feet in the air…
Ultra FTW !
I like what I see so far, it’s like the AI has stepped it up a notch and … could you hear the ocean before???
I pulled off runway just to look about at KBOS and could hear the waves lapping?
Yes. installed and working fine in CYYZ.
CTD when I try to generate autogenerate in app or load any route made by 3rd party app
not for me
I think it also (in safe mode) deletes/ignores the Marketplace add-ones too….I don’t think those are stored in the Community Folder so that’s a new thing if the Safe Mode allows for ignoring Marketplace add-ons. The notes were not clear on what it does with those items, but I suppose it’s easy to find out once launched and then in the Content Manager to see if it disables them.
FINNALLY!!! Just slow!!
Can confirm MSFS is now buttery smooth.
Mix of High and Ultra with pre-caching on Ultra.
i9-9900K CPU @ 4.8

64gb RAM
Installed on M2 drive
Visibility is so much better. Flown in the UK and Croatia quickly and found the autogen stretches to the horizon with no visible blurries.
I really don’t understand why your installation process is so complex and difficult…
Half of the time you have to reinstall everything… This Microsoft store update is a real pain in the ■■■.
Why don’t you have a background update process like almost every other software on earth and we could just say, “Yeah install it”
That wasn’t my experience, I am sorry: SU5 ran stable and fluid on my machine. I had like two (TWO!) crash to desktops in total, at the very beginning. That was it.
And as far as the clouds are concerned: yes, they look a bit too bright (like everything else really when the sun directly shines on it/under certain lighing conditions/time of day), but nothing a shader adjustment couldn’t fix.
But changing shader code is a bigger issue than adding a simple LOD slider, I can assure you. So that’s not something you want to “squeeze” into a world update (after all, we’re talking “cosmetics” here).
This removes the mandatory update screen snd I can play but still no update, Funny.
Not like me to be positive, but this is beautiful. My 40gb’s of add-ons in the Community folder is all working fine, and I’ve gained at least an extra 20fps with all options maxed out in 4k.
Couldn’t ask for more.
denmark the same
Great experience after the update. No pop-ins. Very few stutters. Beautiful visuals.
Sim still doesn’t need as much VRAM and RAM as before SU5.
Everything on Ultra 120% Renderscale, 1440p, i9-9900K, 2080Ti, 32GB RAM
