I would hardly call copy/pasting the top issues thread a solid example of better communication. Agreed they don’t have any problems communicating how they are going to add eye candy (that will look like ■■■■ from 5k feet for most people). They also don’t have any issues communicating how they are going to release paid DLC so they can milk more money from people when they can’t even deliver the stuff they promised from the initial release.
I do wish they had a few more status levels than just investigating, fixed, and pending release.
Or, a dream scenario, our some details on each one about what they’re seeing, possible known workarounds, and helping out. Perhaps they could spare some zendesk support headcount to provide support on forums.
Pardon me for being dense…but where is the release date for Patch 3 listed? I have scoured the announcement and searched the web. I can’t find anything offical.
I’d like to see some progress on the sims nav data and flight planning.
Navigraph saying current beta revision 12 is stable & complete but there are many open questions, limitations and bugs. As soon as ASOBO solves all these reports, they will release it immediately. (Extract from their forum)
Expect the two are in communication.
Think it would be a massive improvement to allow more flexibility with our flight plans.
Did you actually read their notes? Everything we need to know about the top issues the community has voted is in there. Short and sweet.
I know some here love to discuss and overanalyze things to exhaustion but use the proper channels for that (hint, it’s in this very forum, in Self-Service) and you will get the devs attention and a solid chance to have your issues/wishes addressed. Having some patience also helps. You are only wasting your time and barking at strangers on the Internet.
And I love reading about future plans, paid DLCs, and I don’t feel like they are trying to milk more money doing so. It’s a work in progress and it should be expected. You should really complain if MSFS was dead on arrival, now THAT would s.uck.
It’s very simple , I paid for a product to perform and function as the company said it would . Not for some half baked rubbish about what is to come . As a business owner myself, I certainly can say that communication is key and clear communication at that . I am surely hoping they get their priorities straight with this game or sim or whatever it may be. As of now, this is certainly not the product as advertised rather a quick cash grab in my opinion
According to the ‘Forum Feedback - Top Bugs’ image, there are several items slated for release ‘in update 3 / JAPAN’. According to the YouTube video released by Xbox, the Japan patch falls on September 29.
So we waited 2 weeks to find out, after everything posted and reported to Zendesk, that their biggest worries were about improving scenery in Japan? Hey, I’m all for improvements to the world scenery but how about a big headline saying something like “OK! We Really Screwed Up the Last Patch and we know we need to fix it!!”
In the list of bugs, it seems there is very little or nothing that will get IFR up and running like it should. (Maybe I’m wrong but I doubt it).Do these guys really know what they are doing or know what flight simmers are really used to? Do they realize that basic functions that worked 16 years ago are terrible in FS2020? Do they not realize how bad Patch 2 was and yet want us to get excited about Japan???
I am speechless…
I’m surprised this isn’t brought up more. Its completely dark at 95% of airports. Looks like they are closed. Is there a post to vote on this in the issues/wishlist?
Yes, I don’t understand this either. I thought weather was still one of the top issues. Is it suddenly working for everyone or do we need to start a post patch #2 vote for weather issues?
Exactly! The BIG news today is MORE SCENERY- Japan! Oh, whoopee! Now I can fly am incomplete airline to Japan (not that the autopilots will all work or the IFR plan will be executed correctly by ATC)…or the plane doesn’t crash because of flight model bugs.
I’m so sorry to all of you who are thrilled with this announcement about Japan. This is not directed at you. I’m all for improvements in the world scenery but THAT is the least of the defects. How about a headline that says “Ok, we get it. Patch #2 was a disaster. We got it covered, and the other things you all posted!” THAT is what I want to see.
Ok- we need to wait and see what exactly Patch no. 3, next week does. I get that. I really do. But can you blame me, after the ridiculous incomplete release and two worthless patches (yeah, some folks got a few extra FPS) if I just have no confidence in this team? I hope they give me a reason to apologize. I would love to be able to say I was wrong… I hope that I am…
Why does every patch announcement bring complaints, complaints & more complaints. I also am a customer, agree I too do not feel good about the current state but, I see the other side. They have regular patch releases lined up. How many sims produce patches, content updates at a frequency they are doing. My two cents and I know I will be crucified by some for these
Some bugs just take a longer others may not be as easily reproducible and are therefore harder to fix - how can one commit a timeline till the root cause of the bug is known?
Do we know that they are not working on issues that were reported and did not make it to this patch?
Japan may have already been on the roadmap, in parallel - it is debatable whether that should’ve been stopped midway to fix bugs. i hope people understand that working with s/w stopping anything at random and then restarting it has tremendous inefficiencies associated with it. This is debatable nevertheless.
If they are working in an agile s/w methodology, which I suspect they are, things are picked up and handled differently, unlike a six month waterfall’ish roadmap where each and every piece is planned beforehand.
Congratulations MSFS 2020 and Osobo Studio for announcing Japan update in the coming days. In my opinion, even for additional sensible extra cost, this is the best way to make corrections and improvements to the simulator, especially in visuals presentations. That kind of improvements would keep files and folders in original shape without additional littering with amendments from suppliers of unknown origin and risk of conflicts. I would like to suggest MSFS and Osobo Studio to engage in the future with national simulator enthusiasts, or even set up dedicated national groups to work and cooperate on country-specific improvements with collaborations of MSFS to make the updates especially in the field of graphics and visuals appearance of airports, cities and objects of interest, because only they know the best what interests the most of the simulator enthusiasts, especially those who are most interested in a given country. The technical side of specific solutions to aircraft aerodynamics, equipment and advanced flight techniques could be left to those who have shown in the past that they can make excellent improvements in this area and for those who are interested in such improvements and are prepared to bear the cost
