Discussion: Update #4 (1.9.5.0)

It’s working on my ne now. Must have been a random glitch

this is the same philosophy some of the fanbois had during alpha and beta. when asobo directly told us we were testing the beta, they wouldn’t believe it. they would parse the colors of words in the dev roadmap to somehow convince themselves the real version was further down the road and it would fix everything.

You mentioned something earlier on this thread about the award for the most childish post-patch post.

Are you in the running for the most childish series of post-patch posts?

80% of your replies have been whining about people whining.

The other 20% haven’t been much use either.

The issue is that it was communicated in a way that implied it was removed in this update, even with the vague pre-patch notes we receive. I even got a notification on the forums to inform me that the voting topic was ‘completed.’ The devs have said they got rid of it ages ago on their in house builds. And it was an easy fix. It was listed as being ‘fixed’ in update 4.

This update hasn’t followed the numbering trend of previous updates, so maybe what was pushed today wasn’t update 4? But all the marketing would lead any reasonable person to believe that it was to be removed.

Apparently, a lot of people care about it, you know, being both the first and third highest voted item in the community, and the large number of people coming here to mention it. Sure, plans change, but generally when you say you’ve fixed something and cross it off the list, it generally means you’ve fixed something.

Is it in the patch notes? If so then i suggest raising via zendesk again. If not, we’ll…

100% - How an “undesirable feature” got thrown into the same pool as game-breaking bugs is anyone’s guess.

100 GB every two week …call it updating

The apologists are just as annoying as the extreme nitpickers that claim ‘unplayability’ for the most trivial, minimal reasons. Both have very unrealistic views of what’s going on.

There are some very legitimate gripes with this game. And there are very legitimate gripes with how Asobo handles said issues (or doesn’t). And since we paid good money for this product, it’s our right as customers to hold their feet to the fire to get them to get us working software.

That said, some people go WAAAAY overboard complaining about the smallest, insignificant issues.

So not true

My update was only 2.41 GiB.

use netlimiter and limit the bandwidth to 20 mbit’s. That’s the only thing that worked for me!

And we did wait FSX updating ones in a ten years

Are you using an Nvidia video card? If so The Nvidia Experience might have optimized the game for you. Open the Experience and disable it’s optimization and you should be able to adjust your graphics in game.

Neither of these were issues for me before the patch anyway, so can’t tell

Are you sure you don’t have a mod installed to press a key for you, or that you’re not clicking on the screen with your mouse? I allowed the Press any Key prompt to show for several minutes after it appeared, and it definitely did not disappear until I clicked on the screen with my mouse.

Yep burnt ocre I believe

And you felt the need to whine about someone criticizing the whining. So very superior. :joy::joy::joy:

This says more about some of the people frequenting these forums than about anything else.

If I voted those threads, I’d be ashamed to admit it.

Yeah, I hear you. I felt like that with X-Plane, but it was worth the wait ultimately.

edit your usercfg.opt file if you know how to do this and change LOD Factor for terrain and objects up a bit from 2. It will have an impact though so … milage may vary.

You could always say thank you to someone who is at least trying to positively help you, although given the response he probably shouldn’t have

What mixture in Longitude are you referring to???
