Discussion: Update #5 (1.10.7.0)

It worked for me…happy flying my friend.

Same CTD here can’t get past the loading screen. Never an issue before this. Have tried with HOTAS disconnected, closed background programs etc. Latest win10 patch and AMD video drivers installed.

I have the same issue. Upon closer inspection I saw that “user”/AppData/Roaming/Microsoft Flight Simulator/Packages/Official folder is empty after the update. Seems the update uninstalled flightsim for me. I uninstalled from steam and am currently downloading again

Off subject. Is there ant way to change the sorting of replies to newest First?

It takes me forever to scroll down to the bottom of the 700+ replies.

use the pulldown bar on the right-hand side

That easy…thanks👏

Double check in your settings if the flight model is legacy or modern. Other people had the same issue with the Cessna sticking to the ground and notified that their flight model had turned to legacy by itself. Switching it back to modern has seemed to help.

Same for me your not alone with this issue

If you are having the CTD on load issue, I might have a fix… Curious if it works for others…

In the Dev Q&A they said it was a server side problem. The cache in the server was up to 24 hours old; sometime the weather was the same sometimes different. They think that caused lightening in the wrong places.

It is fixed on the server.

Anyone lese had trim issues?

But OnAir never closes it’s eyes

I’ll give it a try! I don’t fly the 172 all that often but wanted to try different planes to see if the issue was consistent through all of them. 172 seemed to be the only one “stuck” to the ground. Maybe changing the flight model could possibly resolve the constant rolling I seem to have on every aircraft right after take off.

Yes exact same issue. The VS just never stops and shoots up or down into the 9000’s FPM in my beloved TBM 930 which is now sadly unflyable. Why ASOBO? Just why?? Not tried any other aircraft yet because I just loved the TBM.

In the Dev Q & A the Executive Producer (the gamer guy with longer hair) said they had no date for fixing LNAV/VNAV. “It’s massively complicated”.

Yep it is, that’s what we are paying for and expect a competitive solution!

After watching the Q&A video I sense Asobo are still in game fantasy land rather than hard core flightsim reality. Great emphasis on content, but the technical stuff lets it down.
They don’t seemed to be focused on the competition (P3D and XPlane). XPlane has an excellent G1000 + tutorial, many pilots think that XP has the most realistic aerodynamics.

You Tuber Russ Barlow (retired military then commercial pilot) said he has a love/hate relationship with MSFS “It’s like that beautiful woman who is mean to you, but you find her so pretty you keep going back” ha ha

It seems I am one of the lucky ones, that didn’t get download problems or CTD.
But going through the settings, I noticed the rolling cache was reset to default (8 GB on my C: drive). I usually have my rolling cache on D: (and 16 GB), and that file was still there.
So if you have had a rolling cache anywhere non-default, please check that you don’t have two files taking up space now.

I am pleased at the better scaling and offsets for the joystick throttle and rudder that this update provides. Flying seems much smoother and realistic now. Just in the nick of time too ( I was about ready to hang up.)

Everything running perfectly here on my old PC (i7 2600k + GTX 970 + 16GB) flying mainly GA and locked at 30fps with Riva Tuner Server Statistics. I noticed a big improvement in sharpness using 80% render scaling.

Game looks better now, the water looks perfect. The download worked without any problem, I didn’t have any CTD, the frames seem to be a little lower than before but not massively. The long freezes after changing the weather I often experienced seem shorter now. I’m happy with this update.
